The stitch is out! 36.1 weeks. Now, we wait until baby wants out. Our Dr. says, on average, 10-13 days.

Today, we are 35 weeks exactly.  The stitch is coming out next Sunday.

Congratulations,  I remember reading your first post right around the time I joined this forum, I am right behind you at 34 weeks. We beat the odds

Hi...  I totally feel for you both.  My only advice is bed rest and more bed rest. With a history of a few miscarriages, Dr spotted by cervix at .8mm in week 11. A cervix be brought it up to about 2cm and I went on bed rest...

I would sometimes elevate my hips/legs with pillows to reduce pressure further..

Cervix length grew and fluctuated between 2.3 and 2.9 until 32 weeks when it started to shorten.

With prayers, bed rest and cerclage.... I made it to a scheduled c section at 38 weeks.

I honestly believe the bed rest helped the cervix to lengthen post cerclage.

Wishing you both heaps of luck

Zoe

We are now 31.3 weeks. fFN on July 11 was negative.

Early next week will be our final cervical length scan and the stitch will be scheduled to come out at the end of week 36 or early week 37. According to the Doctor, on average, delivery is 10 days after stitch removal. Almost there.

28 week is a big milestone, congrats!!! Keep her cooking!!!
Being pregnant ???? with twins, cerclage at 20 weeks and Broken waters at 21 week. I have made to 34 week- MFM's don't let me go further - rather early healthy babies, than later with infections. And even when cerclage was out- the scar it left probably would hold my babies for another week or two, but ended up with c-section. Having both gender twins I can say that girls is stronger - and at the NICU she is the only girl and will be home sooner than her brother.

FYI, as of today, we are 28.4 weeks.  Everything is stable and the fFN test done on 6/27 was negative.

Thanks for the message.

We are at 26 weeks, 2 days today.  We had a scan today, and the stitch looks good and everything is still closed.  There's been some change in length, but we were told that this is par for the course--a few millimeters. Overall, today's appointment was good. Baby weighs 1lb, 15 oz and everything else is otherwise normal. We also had a negative fFN test, which is good.

I suppose the feelings we're feeling now are...disappointment.  I think each time, deep down, we hope that somehow things return to "normal" so that we can breath easy and let our guard down a bit.  But, we're starting to realize this is not likely and we will have to continue to endure each day, one day at a time.

Dear EmJ44,

How are you guys doing? I'm hoping everything is fine, and you should be at 26 weeks. When I was in your situation my maternal fetal specialist said our 2nd most important week was to make it to 26 weeks. He said he's delivered a lot of babies at 26 weeks that go on to survive with little long-term issues! You're in my thoughts.

We also just learned, about five minutes ago, that the results from an fFN test yesterday came back negative.

We were preparing for a positive test and telling ourselves that a positive result is not a helpful management tool (especially post-cerclage and bleed last week), but we were really hoping for a negative result.

Thanks to all for your replies and words.

June 4 (tomorrow), the baby's gestational age will be exactly 25 weeks.  We had a cervical length scan yesterday, and everything looks as it should according to the Doctor.  Cervical length is roughly the same. The Doctor is becoming more assured that this is a true cervical incompetency issue.
