What's Your Story? Tell us. / Pregnancy after Bedrest
« on: April 21, 2020 at 03:45 PM »
hi!!! Looking for advice:
First born, 32 weeks from PPROM
2nd born: progesterone, pre term labor (nifedipine, bedrest x 2 months) born at 38+ weeks
Unfortunately I feel that I don't have a super supportive OB, who just keeps saying I will have the same problem with a 3rd. Any success stories of actually having a normal birth with 2 pre term labor experiences?
Thank you!

I did ok with Steroid injections. Mild soreness at injection site and some redness on my chest and abdomen, but otherwise, ok!

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Positive Bed Rest Story....
« on: June 11, 2015 at 06:37 PM »
Hi all. Just wanted to share my story and bring you all some positivity during this difficult time! My first son was born at 33 weeks due to PROM. My second pregnancy, I was placed on Progesterone injection from week 16. I was found to have a shortened cervix at 29 weeks and placed on Modified Bed Rest. At 32 weeks, I was hospitalized for pre term labor. I stayed for 1 week in the hospital, placed on around the clock Procardia, and went home on pretty strict bed rest.
I was able to get to 37 weeks, stopped all my meds, and was able to move! I even went back to work on the following Monday.
I delivered by baby boy this past weekend, June 6th, at 38 weeks and 3 days. After only 2.5 hours of contractions, no time for an epidural, he arrived after 2 pushes.
Any my dream came true, we were both discharged from the hospital at the same time!!
So hang in there, but you all can do it!!

Take Care!!

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for June 1, 2015

I can't believe it, but I'll be 38 weeks on Wednesday, almost 1 week off bed rest/medications. I went back to work today and felt pretty good. Now just waiting to see when my little man will make his appearance!!

Still cooking...37 weeks on Wed! Was going to be taken off bed rest, progesterone, procardia. However, during my cervical check, I was 2cm dilated, 50% effaced, and his head is super low. So my OB said to continue everything if I wanted to make it to 37 weeks. I know the baby would be fine if born now, but there's something about getting to that 37 week goal and a having a baby called "term", even with the new definition of "early term". Plus no need to car seat challenge! (Cut off is 37 weeks at my hospital). So I have a much needed trip to the salon scheduled for Wednesday morning.

So you ladies can do it! Even with my week hospital admission at 32 weeks, I'm still here cooking!

I'm sure you ladies have already watched these shows, but here's a few that got me through bed rest: Scandal, Parenthood, Nashville, and Revenge. And the book that is suggested on this website, "One Recumbent Mommy" was a really good read!!

Hope this helps!! You ladies can do this, one day at a time.

Hello there. I'll be 33 weeks on Wed. Was admitted a week ago for contractions :(. After 2 doses of terbutaline and around the clock Procardia, they have stopped. I'm stable at 1cm and 60% effaced which has remained unchanged since admission. So going home today with even more strict bed rest at home. So hoping I'll make it for another 4 weeks!!!

Congrats!!!
