What's Your Story? Tell us. / Re: help..i cant do this anymore!!!

Don't give up!!!  It seems like a long time and like it can't be done, but you can do it; set small goals for yourself and take it a day at a time.  As to the Bells Palsy, I know it can seem scary having it.  How severe is your case?  My sister also had this, but you'd never know now.  It was actually the second time she had bells palsy.

You are in the best place right now for you and your babies.

;DOn Friday, I delivered my sweet baby boy- Dawson A.J.  He was 6.15 lbs and 19in. ;D
Everything happened so quickly with the entire labor and birth taking right about 3 hours; I'm still reeling from it.
7:00- water broke
8:15- arrived/checked in at hospital - dilated to 4 and 100%effaced.  (I had been staying steady at 1-2 dilated 80% effaced)  My nurse called for an epidural, but was told no until my labs came back.
8:45ish- rechecked- dilated to 7 - my nurse called again for my epidural
9:15ish- finally got my epidural- I was checked right after and was dilated to 10
9:25ish- began pushing
9:40- My surprise baby arrived (we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl)
He is our perfect little angle!!!  Our 3 year old is doing really well with him.  He gives him kisses and says he loves his brother and then ignores him for awhile   ;)
It has been quite an emotional roller coaster with everything that has been going on within our family, but hopefully things will settle down soon and we can sit back and enjoy our new addition.
*thank you for the condolences I've already received about my mother-in-law*

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Roll Call for February 20

I had my sweet little baby on Friday, Feb 17!  He weighed 6.15lbs and 19 in long.   We did not know if we were having a boy or girl...  This delivery comes at a difficult time with our family.  My MIL passed away on Wed and we had been making funeral arrangements when our little one decided to arrive.  I will try to post a "birth story" in the next couple of days.

Keep up all the hard work ladies.  He is so worth everything!

38 weeks tomorrow  ;D
Here begins the really hard waiting game.  I'm so anxious for baby to be here!

I've learned that no matter how hard it is, it's okay to accept the help that is offered and there's no need to feel guilty.   I felt guilty most of the time, but as I look back now, I know that there was no need to.

I'm sorry to hear that you are in the hospital.  It's nice that you are no longer on mag or other meds besides the p-17.  Since they have been able to stop the labor are they planning on letting you go home for bed rest?  I know it is hard with a little one at home- hopefully he will be able to visit you often.  (My three year old even stayed all night at the hospital with my husband one night).  Keep up the great attitude!  You can do this.

I am so sorry to hear about your previous losses.   :-[  It's unfortunate that your doctors were not able to "do more" to prevent your situations, but it sounds like now they are on it.  Having the blood thinner at the beginning, the stitch, the 17p shots, and bed rest...  You know that they are doing EVERYTHING possible to help this little one!
It's fantastic that you have made it to your 26th week.  It's always a small comfort to know that you have made it past the point of previous losses and that you are that much further and your baby has that much more of a chance to survive.
Welcome to the forum and keep us posted on your progress!

Sorry to hear that you are in the hospital, but I'd have to agree that you are in the best place.  Hopefully you will make it to 34 weeks, but even if you don't, you have made it past some huge milestones!  28 weeks is the next big one!
Good Luck and Keep us posted.

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for February 6
« on: February 06, 2012 at 01:07 PM »
Amazingly, I'm still here at 37 weeks tomorrow and will have officially made it full term!   ;D
I'll have my weekly check on Wednesday to see if there's been any change from last week.  There has only been the very minimal changes so far.  As of last week I'm dilated to 2 and I'm not sure what the effacement was last week, but the week before was 80%.  I am not having contractions to speak of.  Just random tightening; although some are getting a little more painful...
It's so weird that my body and little one have decided to behave "now" instead of earlier in the pregnancy   ;)  I'm just going with the flow now, wondering how long it will be before I get to meet him/her  :)

Congratulations!
I know it's a double edged sword to have her early like this, but at the same time to finally be able to see and hold her.   I'm glad to hear she is doing so well.

36 weeks tomorrow!  It's so hard to believe that I've made it this far.
I love being off bed rest, but I have to admit, it's exhausting.  My body is having a hard time keeping up.   :)
I have an appointment on Wednesday so I'm curious to see if being up and about has affected my cervix and how much.

I'm glad to hear you had good news at your appointment.   ;)
