What's Your Story? Tell us. / Re: 24 weeks and sCL
« on: September 27, 2017 at 09:13 PM »
I am sending u positive vibes. I understand the fear after a loss. Currently 33 weeks with my rainbow baby and i was scared through every moment of this pregnancy. I have cervix issues too and was admitted to hospital due to an open cervix that was 2cm dilated. That was over 7 weeks ago.  There is hope.  Keep ur head up n ur heart strong.

Hi. I to have a dynamic cervix. Failed cerclage at 29 weeks. Home bedrest since 18 weeks but then my cervix shortened and now ive been on hospital bed rest for 7.5 weeks. I am 33+3 weeks and counting. I was due to go home at 32 weeks but the team here changed their minds. Im currently 4 cm dilated 50% effaced but ive been that way for 4 weeks. I do get random contractions and baby is sideways so i think i will be here till the end.  I know how scary going home feels so for ur peace of mind i hope they keep u until 34 weeks. All the best.

Preterm Labor: Anything and Everything / Re: Hoping
« on: September 16, 2017 at 08:41 AM »
Wow that is alot of hospital trips!!! And it is reassuring. This week has been steady. Just minor episodes of contractions that ended quickly. On monday they checked me and im sitting steady at 4cm and 50% effaced with the baby sitting pretty high up. This tuesdsy they will reasses and if they want to send me home i will ask for it to be done on Friday since i will have people home with me the first few days that way. I will also ask if i can book my c section so i have a goal date in mind. I know that will give me something to work towards. Right now i feel like im running to a finish line that is in sight but doesnt seem to get closer no matter how far i run. Strange i know. How long did u stay on bed rest? Were u dilating at all before u actually delivered? Thank you for the reply!!! It helped to have someone relate.

Preterm Labor: Anything and Everything / Hoping

Hi everyone
Currently 30 weeks 5 days. On hospital bed rest for almost 5 weeks now. I've gotten into a routine and it's been ok. However, I've been sent to L&D twice in two weeks. I've had a total of about 45 hours of contractions. Thursday was the worst yet as I was crying through the contractions by the 20th hour just praying for some sort of help. Nothing seems to stop them but they make barely no change to my cervix. It's emotionally and physically draining. Then out of nowhere they go away. I'm so scared and confused. Has anyone had contractions that do this? How long was it till the real deal? I go home at 32 weeks and I know this is strange but I am so scared to go home. What if I miss the signs of labour??? My mind is racing. I just wish things were different. Safer.

Jenn my deepest condolences. I just saw this and realized my last post must have hurt to read. I am so sorry. I pray that our babies are resting peacefully. My lost two years ago left me heartbroken and confused. It took time to process but with time I have found a way to live with a broken heart. Grieve for as long as u need but talk to someone if you find yourself lost. I am here if you need. May peace return to ur heart and may you little one always be remembered and loved.

Hi! Well 08/28 was not an easy day. I've been in hospital for 3 weeks now and my body decided to go into labour today. At 1230am contractions started and at about 1pm (almost 13 hours later) they had to Remove my cerclage due to increased tension. I was sure I would deliver today. However contractions slowed and then stopped. I only dilated to 3cm. So now we wait and pray for as many days as possible with no stitch. We are at 29 weeks and 2 days and everyday inside is an added blessing. You got this! I know it's terrifying but remember that u are not alone. You have ur little one fighting with u. Sending u positive vibes, I've been worried since week 18 and I know it seems like a long way to go but u got this!.

Prayers sent your way!

So I have been on bed rest since 19 weeks. Rescue cerclage at 20 weeks. Pregesteron since 18 weeks. At 25weeks I was given steriod shots due to change in length of cervix. Sent home after a few days since all seemed stable. At 26+1 I had an ultrasound that showed cervix open with bulging membranes. Now on hospital bed rest. Just wondering if anyone has gone to term while dilated. Trying to keep this little one in till term. Things have been steady since I got admitted but I'm still so worried. And holy moly is hospital bed rest a challenge. All I keep saying is I rather be on bed rest with her inside instead of her fighting in the nicu. Our next goal after 28 weeks will be 30 weeks and so on.

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Bedrest and visitors help!
« on: August 11, 2017 at 06:37 PM »
Hi! Been on bed rest since week 19. I'm almost at week 27 and on hospital bed rest now. To be honest i have been very forward with people and they have all understood. I just tell them if im too tired or just not up for visitors that day. I tell them when they can come and if they are talking for hours I tell them I'm sleepy and that I need to rest to make sure the baby stays strong. I find people are ok with it. Honesty is key and if u soften the blow by being polite they will be grateful you told them. I think people just stay because they think u need the company so it's up to u to tell them what u really need. Hope that helped.
