What's Your Story? Tell us. / Success Story

Hi all,

Just wanted to share the end of my story, and give all you mamas some hope that bedrest IS worth it. I was put on bedrest at 22 weeks due to bleeding and contractions/irritable uterus. I had previously had a healthy pregnancy which resulted in my son, and then 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy. I was on bedrest from weeks 22-36. It SUCKED but it was what my body needed. Basically whenever I would do "too much" (could be as simple as do laundry), I would start having intense, regular contractions. Ended up in labor and delivery 3 times with labor scares. healthy, beautiful baby boy was born just 3 DAYS before his due date! He cooked longer than my first-born! He is now almost 2 months old. It's strange to look back on bedrest because it seemed like it would last forever at the time..but it's now a distant memory. So have hope that it will end. I will be praying for you all during this tough journey. This verse was my source of comfort through it all: " May the God of hope fill you with all JOY and PEACE as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Hang in there ladies!

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for January 7, 2019

I'm at 34 + 3 today, and have been on bedrest or modified bedrest since 22 weeks. I'm starting to feel the relief of making it! Hang in there ladies...the time does pass :)

This week I'm looking forward to my wedding anniversary and a birthing class.

My favorite bedrest snacks have been fresh berries, string cheese, and these Trader Joes christmas gummys (lol)

What's Your Story? Tell us. / Irritable Uterus? Bedrest

Hi all,

I am 26 weeks along with my second baby. I have a 3 year old son, and had two early miscarriages (5-6 weeks) before getting pregnant this time around. Everything was fine until around 22 weeks when I started having lots of Braxton Hicks and some super light spotting. Around 24 weeks i had consistent contractions that were 2 min apart, so went to labor and delivery and got a shot of turb and fluids which stopped the contractions. My doctor has put me on bedrest even though my cervix looks fine, placenta is normal, and baby is growing normally.

Just curious if anyone else has been put on bedrest for an "irritable uterus". I am totally willing to comply if it is necessary for a healthy baby, but it seems so extreme to me... It's been extremely hard to be in bed all day when I have an active son and I'm used to working part time.

Anyway, just curious if anyone has any input. I'm an occupational therapist so the idea of not moving around for 3 more months makes me nervous, but I want a healthy baby!
