Hello!  I have a 10 month old and went through bed rest. I know exactly what you are about to go through and just want to say that you will look back one day and say, "I would do it again if I need to". Here is a list of things that helped me keep my sanity while cooped up during the holidays: a memory foam mattress- a must, computer, slippers, a blanket from home, netflix or dvds, ipod, your most comfy lounge clothes. My doctor let me have a penatal massuse come to my room, it was great. Also, check around for someone to come by and give you a mani/pedi. It will be over before hu know it and you will have the best gift.

Hugs,
Lyns

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for January 31st

Hello ladies!  I had my baby girl Paisli Lynn on Jan. 28 at 2:39.  She was a healthy 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 inches long. Needless to say since that day life has been a little chaotic!  I can't thank Angela and all the Keepemcookin ladies enough for all the support during my 13 weeks of bedrest!  Without bedrest there is no way my baby would have been born as healthy as she was.  I will definitely still lend support as I truly believe in the benefits of community during pregnancy.

If you would like to know what my husband thought about the birth of our child visit his blog at www.babiessportsbeer.blogspot.com. If you are interested, he also wrote a blog about Keepemcookin that you may enjoy as well.

Hugs and best wishes to all!  Stay positive and take it day by day it will all be worth it in the end!

Hi ladies!  I am 37 weeks 2 days and having contractions!  I have been contracting since last week but last night they got a bit more intense.  So much so that I couldn't go back to sleep.  If Paisli doesn't decide to come on her own this week we will be induced on Sunday night.  I am so ready!  I have been super uncomfortable for about 3 weeks now and it feels like I have a watermelon in between my legs!  By next roll call I should have a baby girl!!!

My husband has been awesome throughout bed rest.  It took him a few weeks to get used to the idea and pick up where I left off but he figured it out.  Of course, like every man, he has his set back moments where he forgets that I can't stand clutter and the stench of dirty dishes but he gets right back on track when I politely mention it is bothering me.  He started a blog and if you are interested check it out at babiessportsbeer.blogspot.com.  Your husbands may like it as well, his latest blog is titled: 10 Things You Shouldn't Do When Your Wife is Pregnant.

Hang in there ladies!  Hugs and best wishes to you all!

I am feeling the same way.  I am having contractions and will be induced this coming Monday if Paisli doesn't decide to come on her own by then.  I went to get coffee this morning as my doctor told me that I can leave home to do some walking etc., I felt like I was going to have a panic attack because I hadn't driven in over 12 weeks.  I made it back ok but it was scary!  I guess just taking it little by little things will start falling back into place.

Happy Roll Call Ladies!

We made it to 36 weeks yesterday! Phew, what a relief!  My baby is already between 6 & 7 lbs. I think bedrest helped pack on those baby pounds quicker than if I were able to be active- and normally I would have been.  I think I have hit that burst of energy right before you go into labor (as I am told) because I really want to get up and do laundry and cook, etc. even though I can't.  I don't know, maybe I am just raring to get back to normal activity.  Either way it is refreshing in a way.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  With this website, twitter and facebook keeping me busy the time really flew by and I hope it is the same for all of you as well.  I take things day by day and don't let myself get overwhelmed with how long I have been on bedrest or how long I have to go.  I have my bad days of course but I like to chalk that up to hormones!  We are all keeping our babies safe and healthy, what more can a (soon to be) mommy ask for!

ML2011- Welcome! I hope you end up getting to go home after all.  Keep up the great attitude!
Pillowqueen- Wow! Amazing job! I pray your delivery will be safe and easy!  Good luck!
JacErnst-I'm glad Gray has changed his mind and is still cookin'.  I was worried when I didn't see you on here or see tweets for a few days, I'm glad you are safe at home. I understand your HR dilemma, they and the short term disability company were a nightmare for me too.  I hope tomorrow starts a new great day for you.  You are doing a great job!

Hugs and best wishes to everyone!

Welcome saraonbedrest!  I'm so glad you are able to go through this at home instead of the hospital!  I was put on bedrest at 24 wks and I'm now 36 so there is hope!  If you are a fan of twitter there are a few hilarious women that I follow, it helps to break up the monotiny of the day.  Check out goodbadfamily and nuckingfutsmama.  Goodbadfamily also has a great blog if you are interested. We are here for you on your good and bad days!  Good luck on your journey, hopefully I can be part of that before I go into labor!

Thank you very much Elizabeth!  I would have responded sooner but my husband is frantically trying to finish his college classes before our daughter is born. He started working with only 15 hours left to graduate (mind you he is now 31 and it is time to finish anyway!) so before I got pregnant I asked him to finish as I did so as to set a good example for our daughter.  I really appreciate your feedback.  I am currently checking with my friends to see if I can get the discount through one of them but I may take you up on your offer if you don't mind.  My husband and I feel it is really important to do this and I have had a gut feeling we should while I have been pregnant.  Usually my intuition is dead on so we are definitely going to move forward with this.  Would you mind sending me your email address so I may contact you? Thank you greatly!

Hi ladies,

I would like to bank my baby's cord blood but there are so many choices.  I'm not sure what company to trust.  Do any of you have any advice?  Have any of you had bad experiences with a particular blood bank?  Anything is appreciated!

Thanks!
Lyndsi

Hi ladies!  I'm so proud of everyone for doing so well this week!  I have an update.  I went to the doctor yesterday because I got a rash on my chest that spread under my arm pit.  It turns out the itching I have been experiencing is a secondary form of the chicken pox. Who knew you could get something like that while pregnant??!!  It is caused by the added stress pregnancy puts on the body.  So weird but I'm thankful it wasn't due to liver failure like my doctor first thought.

Ems- Congratulations and great work making it to 39 wks!
Yvonne- Welcome to the forum! We are here for you!
tntmom- Congrats on 27 weeks and Modified BR- I know modified BR allowed me to take a deep breath and relax a bit, I hope you can do the same!
Pillowqueen- 39 weeks is amazing, so proud of you!
elypineda- I understand the weak feeling, are you able to do bed rest exercises? (mamas on bedrest) has a great workout you can do from bed and that might help you feel less weak.
Pixie- Congrats on ~35 wks, we are almost in the same boat, I am 35wks 3days!
Reaganh3- You are entering the less worrisome zone! I had a goal of 32 wks then 34 now I'm on my way to 36 and I'm sure you will be able to do the same!

Christina,

I'm so sorry to hear about Lance. It is amazing that he was able to do so much for his brother.  What a blessing that he saved Quinton's life.  I am praying for you and your family.  I wish you the best and send my hugs.

Hi all!

I am 35 weeks 1 day and counting.  I was tested for liver problems when I became very itchy last week, fortunately the results came back normal!  Now I have a rash on my chest and still have the itch to contend with.  I have an appt. tomorrow so we'll see what is going on.  Other than that we are great.

Sending positivity and hugs to everyone!  Keep up the good work!

Update:
My husband and I couldnt have asked for a better appt. yesterday.  Our ultrasound showed that our baby is 5lbs., 10ozs already!  I will be 35 weeks on Sunday.  My high risk doc thinks I may be able to make it to 38 weeks.  Even though I am so ready to have Paisli it is great to know that bed rest really did the job keeping my baby undelivered and healthy!

I started itching really bad last night, doc had me do a blood test today to check my liver.  Hope to get good results on Monday to keep the positive streak going.  No need to worry over the weekend, what will be will be.

Stay positive ladies, you are keeping your baby(ies) safe and strong by being on bed rest and that is all that matters right now.

I send hugs and best wishes to everyone!

Autoimmunelife- by no means are you out of line!  You need more support than ever during a time like this.  I am deeply sorry this has happened to you after all your hard work to keep her as safe as possible. We are here for you.  You and your family are in my prayers.

I made it to 34 weeks yesterday!  Even my high risk doc didn't think we would make it this far, boy did I prove them wrong!  I have appts with both my regular doc and the high risk doc on Thurs. I can't wait!  I love seeing my baby girl on ultrasound day, it gives me such excitement that we are even closer to seeing each other.  Having to do a 24 hour urine test today-blah.

Happy New Year! You are one step closer to your due date!

I send my hugs and best wishes to everyone!

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for December 27th!

Still positively cookin at 33 weeks!  I have been on bedrest for two months now.  We have a check up tomorrow.  I can't wait, that is the only time I get to leave the house per my doctor.

I am having some pain in my stomach that I have never had before, I wonder if it is from belly starting to drop.  I don't have tightening so I don't think it is contractions.  It is not a really bad pain, it is more of an awkward feeling pain.

I can't wait to see Paisli, so far, I know she has black hair, her daddy's cheeks and my chin.  4D ultrasounds are the best!

I send hugs and best wishes to all the ladies out there!
