Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Birth Announcement

Despite very little sleep, I'm feeling better every day.  Have some back pain when standing too long - that could be a side effect of the bed rest??

Hey everybody,

Rosalyn is super cute, and time consuming, but I haven't forgotten about all of you who are still cookin!  Thanks to everyone for helping me get through a long 13+ week stint of bed rest.  I have updated my Birth Announcement post to include a link to the hospital baby gallery so u can see a picture of baby Rosalyn.

Best Wishes to all of u!

Thanks everyone!  We are home from the hospital now and so happy!
Doctor started the pitocin around 6am.  Broke my water around 10am and just 2 minutes later I was begging for my epidural - ha ha!  At 11:05 I was 10cm dialated and Rosalyn was born right at 12:00.  I have a painful hemmroid or two, and 3 stitches, but she was totally worth it.  My husband has been so wonderful and supportive.  He's a diaper-changing machine.  I want to think of a nice gift for him.

I'm trying to figure out how to put an image of Rosalyn in one of my posts.  I'll keep working on that.

Good Luck Ladies - you all deserve a happy ending too!

Rosalyn Scarlett was born at 12 noon on Friday March 4th.  Induced labor at 39 weeks, 1 day.
She weighed 7 lbs, 1oz, and 20 in long.  She is super cute if I do say so myself!  :)

It's (Roz-uh-lynn), some people have asked, or called her Rose-a-lynn.  But, Rosalyn is the proper spelling according to babynames.com

- What do u guys think?  Should I have spelled it differently?  Guess its too late now...

Try to focus on the positives Aylw88.  They'll find a way to fatten your little baby up!  We are all pulling for you.

Be sure to check out the Monday Roll Call posts - that is where a lot of the activity on the forum takes place.  Plus you can keep up with everyone's progress.

I'm scheduled to be induced on Friday (will make 39 weeks!), so I'll try to remember next Monday's Roll Call to tell everyone our happy ending - hopefully we have a healthy little girl.  :)

I've only gained 28 pounds, but apparently that was enough.  Everything about this pregnancy has been the opposite of what I expected.
Everyone is different, as they say...so some people are lucky and won't have any.

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Stretch Mark City

Anyone else covered in stretch marks?
They have increased big time in the past 3 weeks.  I was using cocoa butter everyday for the first several months, then at the first sign of stretch marks I switched to Mustela.  It hasn't helped.
I expected a few stretch marks - but I have tons of them - and they are even on my butt too.  :(
Why couldn't the baby come out back on Feb 17th when I was 4cm dialated?  Or last week when I was 5cm!

Congrats to Yvonne, Sara, GrowinEli, & Aylw88.  You are still cookin'...good job.  Like someone else said, every single day makes a difference for your babies.

I'm on a jail break this morning, ha ha....  I guess it doesn't matter now that we are past 38 weeks, but my husband is taking me to Waffle House for breakfast - woo hoo!  Then to the doctor to find out about the 'inducing' that will take place Wed morning.

NEWS FLASH AGAIN !?!

This morning I had a doctor's appt - I am still 5cm dialated!  Because nothing has changed since last week she wants to follow  "the rules" and wait until I am 39 weeks to induce me.  So our NEW date for being induced is Friday March 4th.
this is going to be the longest week of my life   :-\

Congrats Lori on 30 weeks & good luck on your GD test.

Arenee - Sorry to hear you failed the test.  :(   Once you get the hang of counting carbs, it's not that terrible.  I kept a journal of what I ate so that I could look back and see what foods I had the best results with, and what time of day it seemed I could handle more carbs.  Sorry again though....I know it seems a lot worse when you are already on bedrest.  To me it felt like they were taking my last bits of freedom away!  :(   On the brightside, the new diet seemed to take some of the chubbiness out of my pregnant cheeks.   :D
At least pat yourself on back for making it to 31 weeks!!

Today is my last 'still cookin' rollcall.  Going to be induced tomorrow morning.  I can NOT believe that I lost my mucus plug on the 16th, was 4cm dialated on the 17th, then 5cm dialated on the 23rd - and I'll have to be induced because I'm not going into labor.  It's insanity after all of the 17p injections and bed rest and trebutaline!  I tried several 'home remedies' this weekend to induce labor and not one contraction came from those efforts.  So glad today is my last day of pregnancy because the heartburn is absolutely horrible these days.

I'm excited to be at the end of my journey, and I'm excited for all of you ladies who are still cookin this week.

My Dad can't get off work on Tuesday, so I really hope she decides to come out this weekend instead.  We'll see.

Welcome to the board.  Bed rest is tough - its nice to have a place like this to talk to other ladies who understand.  Having a place like this to write down what I'm feeling has helped me not take out my frustations and fears on people who are caring for me while I'm on bed rest.   I think you are very lucky that your health care providers checked your cervix during your 20 week ultrasound.  I wish that had happened during my last pregnancy.
Congrats on making it to 24 weeks.  I'm having a little girl too!  :)
