Hello everyone
I'm still here too, 34 weeks and 4 days.
I had my steroid shots last weeks. Baby dropped, but the doctor is not worried anymore. I'm resting one more week and I hope I can make it to 36. My cerclage is off in about 10 days.
My mom is coming from Italy this afternoon, very happy about it :)

To all the new moms on bed rest, try to stay positive, I've been on modified bed rest since week 15, almost 20 weeks. It's not easy, but it helps a lot.

I hope everyone has a quite week :)

October Finally :) For me is 32 weeks and half. I'm feel better now that at 15 weeks before the emergency cerclage. Baby is high, cervix is closed and no contraction :) Still modified bed rest during the week, I'm a little more active in the week end.
My doctor wants to give me the steroid shot this week (just in case), she said it is the last week she can give that. No shot after 33 weeks.
I'm not sure about it, but according to her it is better, just in case the baby comes before 35 weeks.

34 weeks my next goal :)
Things are doing well, since week 20 I've been stable.
I hope everyone has a nice week end

What's Your Story? Tell us. / Re: Short Cervix :(

Try to stay positive. I'll tell my story hopefully you'll feel better.
It was 3 years we were trying to have baby N. 2, we had three miscarriages, and a negligent doctor (at one of the best hospital here in Chicago) ruined my cervix due to  5 D&Cs. Twice he left a piece of placenta during the procedure and I had to have multiple D&Cs.
Anyway that history.
In March I got pregnant again and switched to a great doctor.
At 15 weeks it was a Thursday, during a regular check up, the doctor found my cervix shorter and a little soft, so she scheduled my cerclage for the next Monday.
On Saturday afternoon, I was at the park with  my 4 years old and my belly dropped. I started to feel a lot of pressure. I went to bed but even with the rest the pressure didn't stop. I knew something was wrong
On Monday I didn't tell the doctor because I was afraid she wouldn't do the cerclage, so during the procedure the doctor told me that my cervix was closed but basically gone. I had no more cervix. She did a miracle, pulled back my cervix and placed the cerclage.
I was on strict bed rest for 5 weeks, at my 20 weeks ultrasound they checked my cervix and it was 3.7 cm long (normal). I continued to bed rest and at my 26 weeks ultrasound the same 3.7 cm long.
Now I'm almost 30 weeks my cervix is been soft but stable since my cerclage, and I start to feel more confident. The doctor explained to me that once the cervix gets soft stays soft, but stable is what we are looking for.

I've been seen my doctor every week since the cerclage for checks up and progesterone shots.
I still have 5 more weeks to reach 35, but i feel much better now that i'm 30.

Try to rest, I really think it helps and good luck :) you can make it :)

Hello Everyone
I'm still here too 30 weeks this Friday, after 10 weeks of bed rest and 5 weeks of modified bed rest.
Emergency cerclage at 15 weeks after the doctor found my cervix very short and soft, and weekly progesterone shots since week 17. I really think the rest helps a lot with an IC.
Looking forward to reach 32 weeks and than 34 weeks :)
Congrats to all the 34+ weeks moms, you made it; and good luck to the rest of us :)

Don't know what to do. i was just thinking today to at least buy some clothes.
I'm only 24 so I would like to wait till 28 weeks to buy stuff. I don't have anything as well. My daughter is 4 and half, and after my second miscarriage I gave all the clothes away, and after my third miscarriage i gave all the toys away.
One of my friend, pregnant as well with complication, told me that she won't buy anything yet (she is not even half way) but she already put a lot of stuff in her on-line shopping bag or wishing list, so she has the peace of mind that she has already picked stuff.

I will at least buy some small stuff, and pick the big stuff that you need right away (crib, car seat, and stroller...). I do think think 27 it is save to start shopping.
Good luck

Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for July 30

Hello everyone
I'm here too, 23 and half, after 8  weeks of modified bed rest. I feel good, and since the cerclage, my cervix is been soft but stable. So stable is good.
I'm getting ready to have my oldest daughter back home. She is still in Italy with my family and she is coming home Sunday finally :)
I don't know if anybody feel the same, the problem for me is that I feel good. I'm not that big yet and since the cerclage I don't have any pressure on my lower belly and it is hard to don't do anything. My cervix (at least few weeks ago during the ultrasound) was almost 4 cm long, so in the normal range, but because it is soft, my doctor explained to me that I need to take it easy, and rest as much as I can.
The thing that scare me the most, is that everything can change in a day, and I'm always worried that at the next check up they find something wrong.
Two days before my cerclage, my belly dropped and I felt that immediately and the pressure was very bad, and it happened all the sudden, so I try to remind myself to be careful and to take the rest very seriously.

Sorry for the long message
good week to everyone

I'm doing same things that you are doing.
I'm so happy we have internet , I don't know how would've done without it :)
I checked face-book all the time, shopping on line for everything i need, including pea-pod, some TV, some internet, suduko on line, phone calles, e-mails.... stuff like that.
I can actually do a little more now, my condition has been stable for a while, but I still want to take it easy I'm only 22 week +.

Congrats for 24th weeks.
I'm 22 and I've been on modified bed rest since my cerclage at 15 weeks. When I had my cerclage my cervix was basically gone, the doctor had to pull it back and put the sticks. At the 20 weeks ultrasound my cervix was almost 4 cm long, so I guess bed rest really helps :)
stay strong :) I'm trying to stay positive too, I hope to reach 34 weeks, and right now 12 weeks seems so long, but hopefully it will go fast :)

Hello everyone
I'm 21 weeks and 4 days. With the cerclage, the progesterone shot and the rest, I feel pretty good. Some days I do more than I probably should, but it is hard to rest all day every day. I'm on modified bed rest for now, I'm allowed to do some activities but not too many.
I do see the doctor every week as well, and make me feel good.
I hope everyone is doing well

Hello evryone
I'm 20 weeks and 4 days, (5 weeks of modified bed rest since my cerclage). My 20 weeks appointment went well. The baby is doing well. The cervix is 4 cm long and there is a lot of space between the placenta and the cervix too. The doctor is still very careful, my cervix is soft so I have to rest, but I feel good that it is long and of course closed.
