I don't think I'll be off bed rest until delivery.  I have a cerclage in and he's removing it during my c-section.  And it has started to pinch more frequently within the last 2-3 days which means I really need to stay off my feet. It's okay though.  I have 13 days left!

I'm now 33 weeks and for some reason having less recorded contractions that I was a month ago.  Weird, but awesome.    As for being induced at 40 week... nope!    My doctor has scheduled a c-section for me at exactly 36 weeks.  Because of my previous c-section with my 26 weeker, he doesn't want me to have any full-blown contractions because my uterus will be too thin to handle them.  I'm scared about the c-section, but I CAN'T WAIT to meet this little kid I've shared a body with for so many months! 

It's definitely a totally different experience from having a 26 weeker.. there's so much joy when things go the way they should!!  Keep resting, Mommas!!

I'm so excited and I need to share my excitement with people who understand. 

I'm 32 weeks today, woooooooooh.  My first pregnancy was rocky, ending in delivering a 26 weeker who is a.k.a. Princess Olivia.  She's doing fantastically well -- a smart kid with no development or growth delays.  She's been a walking miracle to so many. 

Anyway, when I got pregnant this time around I was scared TO DEATH because I had read that once you have a preemie, you'll likely deliver prematurely again.  And often, earlier than the previous pregnancy.  Now that's a pretty terrifying statistic if you ask me.  Delivering at 26 weeks is scary enough, anything earlier than that... I can't imagine.

After getting set up with a new high-risk doctor who felt confident that he could help me get to at least 30 weeks, being 32 weeks makes me feel great!!! 

So, if you're feeling like you can't make it any further... don't give up!  Half of getting there is having a positive mindset.  Hang in there ladies!  If I can make it, you can too!

I think our hubbys all need to take a class on how to act around a pregnant wife on bed rest.    Do they really think we want to be stuck in bed or on the couch?!  It's really hard staying put -- it's not like our legs are broken.  It takes a strong will to sit/lie here and stay put!!!  ESPECIALLY if you  already have another child running around the house needing their momma!

Bed rest is great because.... you can appreciate each and every moment with your growing, little one.  Normally, life passes so quickly, but when on bed rest... well, there's plenty of time to soak in the fact that being a mom is about doing what's best for your baby even before he/she is born.

I'm grateful that I've had all of this time to enjoy every kick, punch, ultrasound, ache and pain.  In the end, this baby has been worth every minute I've spent on the couch. 

Another plus to bed rest... lay on a couch you hate.  You will most likely ruin it and have to get a new one when you've delivered!

THIRTY ONE WEEKS!!!!  And 3 days.    I can't believe I made it this far with this little one!  With a previous 26 week delivery and 18 week delivery, 31 weeks sounds so far and so good to my ears!  My doctor is amazed that after testing positive with the FFN test at 26 weeks, I'm still cooking this little one 5 weeks later. 

What a blessing to make it so far. 

My excitement that this baby is actually coming and going to survive fairly well has kicked in.  EEEEPPPP!  It only took almost the entire pregnancy, but heck.  It is SUCH a good feeling!

If you test negative for the FFN test, that's great!  If you test positive for the FFN test... well... I did.  And that was 3 weeks ago.  A positive FFN test apparently doesn't always mean that you'll go into labor soon.  Again, a negative result is AWESOME, but a positive result isn't the worst thing in the world either.    Just saying. 

SO... after a positive FFN test 3 weeks, Baby Girl is still cooking at 29w, 5days.    YIPPEE!!!!!! I'm still on bed rest with bathroom and showering privileges, taking Procardia, getting my weekly progesterone shot, and having my CL checked weekly.  My cervix is still holding the same from when I had a scare at 24 weeks with funneling.  Occasional contractions, but nothing regular.  I think... I think I'm doing really well and getting pretty darn excited about making it this far.

I can't believe I'll be 30 weeks on Friday.  My word.  The months have gone by so slow, but now I feel like I'm running out of time to get things ready before baby comes at 35 weeks! 

OH and boy do I feel so HEAVY lately!

I'm doing okay, we all survived with power most of the time.  There has been horrific flooding all around us, but if I didn't turn on the news... I wouldn't know that we just had a hurricane come through.  No trees down in our yard, no water in our basement, nothing.  The power went out twice, but only for about 15 minutes each time.  We are blessed.    Thanks for your concern!

I had my hubby run out and buy water, batteries for the flashlights and non-refrigerated foods just in case the power went out for a long time (we have several friends that have been without power and phones for several days now).  Since we only have an electric stove, we wouldn't have been able to cook anything like soup or pasta so that was annoying, but overall it we were fine!

So... this weekend is supposed to bring a hurricane to the East coast where I live.  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little worried.  About what though?  Hm, flooding, power outages, eating pretzels and nutri-grain bars if the power stays off for too long... not being able to get to the hospital if I have a problem. 

This should be a mighty interesting weekend!   

Any other hurricane anticipaters???

Celebrating my 1st day of my THIRD TRIMESTER, wooooooh! It's the first time in three pregnancies that I've actually made it.  I feel like I've accomplished something grand!   

I'm 28 weeks today and feeling pretty good.  No contractions for a week now so I think the procardia is doing it's job!  Normal, annoying aches and pains... all of which are getting me closer to see this little one's sweet face.

Hey jennalyns!  I too am having a really hard time asking for help... Even when some people offer to help!  It's weird and I don't like people doing my dishes, my laundry, etc.  But if you don't mind that much, ask some people to pick up or drop off a few things like a meal or a couple of groceries or something little like taking something to the post office.  A lot of people like to actually be asked.  If they can't or don't want to help, they'll let you know. I promise.  I have experience in this area only because I've been on bed rest from about 5/6 weeks pregnant And I just reached 28 weeks today.  It's been a very long road for me and this little one...

And even if the discomfort for having fair-weather friends help continues, remind yourself that there is an end to all of this.  Keep your eyes on the prize!

26 weeks 4 days today!  Yippee!

Went to the dr today and everything looks unchanged from last week (yay!).  And baby is weighing in at 2lbs. 1oz.  Next up is another FFN test tomorrow at the hospital... Ugh.

I would check with your doctor but the dizziness sounds like a side effectvfromthe procardia.  I have had a headache on and off every day since that time.  My dr even adjusted the dose I'm taking which helped but didn't eliminate the symptoms altogether.  We put up with this to keep our babies in... Or at least give them a fighting chance. 

The problem with my contractions is that I don't feel them... They're silent... And since I don't know they're happening I can't keep track of them.

I was under the impression that being given Progesterone shots and taking Procardia would prevent preterm labor.  So far, that's been the case.  And now I had 2 contractions today.  I'm feeling pretty confused... and a little bit scared. 

Any other experience with these drugs and contractions?
