Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Monday Roll Call for June 27

Hi ladies! I have some exciting news! On Sunday the 26th at 1236 am, after 24 weeks of bed rest & 3 pregnancy losses i am proud to announce that my little princess has made her debut. Her name is Madelyn and she was born via c section (not planned). She's 7 lbs 4oz & 20 in long. My doctor decided to induce me Saturday (39 weeks) when I was already 3 cm dilated. I went in at 8 am & at 3pm my water had broken. I had progressed to 8cm at 5 pm before my epidural was administered. After my epidural for whatever reason I went back down to 6 cm & my cervix was swollen so my doctor made the decision to perform a c section. Go figure after that painful cerclage removal I'd just end up having a section lol

Were still in the hospital and go home tomorrow. Maddy and I are having a bit of a hard time getting used to this breastfeeding thing but were trying our hardest. Each day is a learning experience & it's a journey I'm so excited to take.

Ps idk if u can see the pic or if its too big or small. I'm on my phone & dont know how to upload pics to this site lol

I had one. Granted I was already close to term when i had it but nonetheless I had one. I did nothing and no one made
me do anything. Everyone came to me and I sat/layed out on the couch. My husband brought me food, opened the presents, greeted everyone & overall was the more sociable one. I stood up only to pee & to have my belly measured for that one game lol. At first I really didn't want a shower. We had everything our little girl needed by the time the shower came around but I'm soooo happy I had one. It was the first real sense of normalcy i had in my pregnancy. Have fun!

Yay congrats to those who delivered! How exciting!

As for me, I'm 38 w 1 day. My cerclage was scheduled to be removed last Wednesday. Apparently my doctor had done 2 stitches. One was very high up and the second (which was more of a reinforcement for the first one) was low. So he was able to remove the lower one with ease but the main one was impossible. So Saturday I checked into L&D to have it removed w an epidural. After 30-40 min of tugging & pulling on my cervix, I was cerclage free! The nurses commented on how they've never seen a removal like that and how much force my doctor was using. So it was a good thing I had an epidural done. That dang epidural is crazy! I felt like clawing my face off! I was so darn itchy! At least I know what to expect when I go into labor.

I'm now 3 cm dilated. I'm having a few contractions but nothing painful at all. Doctor thinks the princess will come before Wednesday but I don't think so lol. So now were just waiting :)

Congrats Laura!!!!!! He's so precious :)

Today I'm 37 w 1 d :) I MADE IT TO TERM!!!! *happy dance* I get my stitch taken out Wednesday but my doc doesn't seem to think labor will happen right away due to all the scar tissue that probably accumulated on my cervix as a result of the cerclage. So after that it'll just be a waiting game.

I had my baby shower yesterday and as apprehensive as I was to have it I must admit i had a great time. I'm so excited for what the next few weeks hold. These past 24 weeks of bed rest have been a challenge but I'm so happy/thankful I've made it this far. I can't wait to meet my little princess!

Time: roughly 24 weeks.
Length of cervix: had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks where I was already 1cm dialed and softening. They never gave me my CL during that time but last measurement was 3 weeks ago and it was 3.1
Type: strict now modified. Will be completely off when stitch is removed
Stitch: yes at 13 weeks. I had 2 previous losses at 20 & 18 due to IC but this is my first cerclage
Gestation at birth: Will be 37 weeks on Sunday and will have stitch removed on Wednesday :) Doctor doesn't seem to think I'll deliver within a few days of removal since i had it done so early in the pregnancy and scar tissue has built up

Ditto I agree w Jennifer. Mckoygirl has been amazing! Besides the vast array of knowledge you have the fact that you & your babies are doing so well & you're almost term is so wonderful & inspiring! I'm excited & can't wait to know what you're having!

But anyways I get more annoyed when people stare at my belly and go WHOA! Ur huge! When are you gonna pop? I know they don't mean anything bad by it but I'd rather not get called massive or imply that I have my own orbit lol but I suppose I'd rather have them call me huge while pregnant rather then when I'm not lol then I'll be really mad.

Hello ladies! Glad everyone is doing well!

I'm 36 weeks 1 day today and boy am I feeling like a whale. I've got an appt on Thursday to get my GBS test done. Usually at this point my doc would talk out my cerclage but we both decided that we'll have it removed at 37 weeks so just a few more days to go :)

Aside from that, our house is a mess :( we had a darn water pipe burst which left a lot of water damage to our carpets, walls & hardwood floor. It should all be fixed by next Wednesday. It's driving me insane thinking I'm gonna go into labor & have my little princess before they're done lol so here's to hoping that little Maddy stays in for another 2 weeks since we aren't allowed in our house for a few days  :-\

When I was first put on bed rest on new years eve, I never thought I'd get this far. I had a husband in Afghanistan & was fully dependent on other people. Now I'm 6 days away from term! Its a feeling only us bed rest moms know. To want something so bad that you'll do anything and everything in your power to make it happen. I am so proud of us :) No one can ever, ever question our devotion to motherhood. Not after the months and months of bed rest. Keep it up ladies!!!

Mckoygirl- we have the same crib & changing table & also have a tree appliqué! Very cute how u & hubby did it! I love the dragonflies!

As far as nesting goes, I had an urge earlier around 5-6 months but since i couldn't do anything it just faded away. After having so many losses during the 2nd trimester & buying things then getting heartbroken I became very superstitious. It wasn't until 32-33 weeks I realized that if in fact I do go into PTL we are so screwed lol since we have nothing whatsoever. Not a single diaper, no car seat. On top of having nothing, a water pipe bursted in our house so we had flooding and damage. I was so overwhelmed. Thankfully, my hubby worked hard and got the nursery done within 10 days and my parents dealt w the house issues for us so most of those problems are fixed as well. I finally have peace of mind now and if she does come early well be ok :) now I just gotta stop online shopping for random things lol I have a huge obsession w really girly flower clips and bows lol

Hi hi 35w1d here. Nothing important to report. Don't have an appt until next Thursday where I'll have my GBS swab done then hopefully the week after will get my cerclage removed & off bed rest! I'm dying to get my hair cut & nails done! Had an appt last Thursday and things were good. CL is 3.1 and doctor says it's up to me whether I want my stitch removed at 36 or 37. I opted for 37 just for peace of mind. I want to be able to say that I've done 24 weeks of bed rest & made it to term :)

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing good!

Sorry for the late check in. We've, well hubby, has been busy setting up little Maddys nursery and were finally done! I must say its nice being bossy and actually having an excuse as to why I keep barking out orders lol

Anyways, today I'm 34w 5 d. I had an appointment yesterday and maddy is measuring well. Her head is the size of a full term baby (big head like her mommy lol) and weighs 6.2 lbs! My CL is at 3.1 so everything is looking great! Doc said i could have my stitch taken out at 36 but I opted to get it taken out at 37 which he was completely okay with. I just want to be able to say I made it to 37+ weeks after being placed on bed rest for so long. I'm excited & can't wait to meet my little princess! Eeeeek!

i had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks since my cervix was already softening & opening & my history of an incompetent cervix. ive been on bed rest since then, am currently 34 weeks & have 3 weeks until my stitch is taken out & restrictions are lifted :) almost there!!!

33 w 1 d here. Doing good. Pretty uneventful appointment last week but my little girl is doing great :)

I do however have symphysis pubic dysfunction (SPD). Does anyone else have it too? It is so painful that I literally can not get out of bed without being in pain. Even repositioning myself in bed is painful especially if I use one leg at a time. So I'm training myself to roll over with my legs bent and knees together. That seems to alleviate some pain.

I'll gladly deal with it for another 4 weeks just to know my little princess will be full term & healthy.

Anyways hope all you ladies are doing great!

congrats allison!!!!!!

so im 32w 1 d and everything is going fine & dandy :) i have an appointment this thursday so im hoping things keep going smoothly.

i finally gave in and bought a few things for the nursery. ive been very superstitious about everything but if i keep that mind frame up we'll have nothing done lol so i bought a few things. i opted to have a baby shower (since its only a few people) but its not for another 3 weeks. lets hope i dont deliver before then or itll turn into a welcome baby maddy party lol

im just so excited for the next few months :) when i first got put on bed rest (new years day) i never ever thought i would have made it this far. im so proud of all of us!!! were doing it!

Congrats to everyone who had their babies :)

Southern: congrats on your baby & I hope he's out of the nicu soon & glad that overall he's doing well :)

As for me i'm 31+1 today. Had an appt last Thursday w no major changes. It was great having hubby w me since it was his first ultrasound since he came home. The staff was finally able to meet him after months of me speaking about him lol. Baby Maddy is doing good. She's weighs 4.0 lbs now! How exciting!

Now that hubby is home were starting on the nursery. Well he is I'm just bossing him around lol. I'm still superstitious & paranoid so I'm holding off on buying anything but eventually I'm going to need to get stuff since we don't have anything and I don't feel like having a baby shower since everyone is irritating me.

I'm just so very excited for May to be over with. Its incredible to think I've been on bed rest since new years day & have come this far. I can't wait to meet my little princess. All of this is for her.
