I have an appointment next week to see my gynaecologist. I will be 27 weeks next week.

I was told at my last appointment, which was at 23 weeks, that as the cervix length is stable, I will not be having any more ultrasounds to check the length. But they will check it manually. Is it possible to check manually?

Also, I am a bit worried that manual checkup may irritate the cervix and I may go in labor. Currently I have no symptoms and I do not want to change the status quo. I am still on bed rest though, just getting up to use the bathroom and shower everyday.

Any thoughts?

My first post here. I had 20 week ultrasound on 17th April 2014. Diagnosed with short cervix of 2.2 cm and 1.8 cm with funnelling. Radiologist advised to take it easy till 24th April so I can see my doctor.

After returning home, I did lot of research and have been on bed rest. Doing very little housework. Hardest part is not being able to pick up my 3 year old who has always been a mommy's girl.

I have been worrying myself to death until I found this forum. All the stories have been so inspirational. I feel that there is light at the end.

I will see the doctor tomorrow and discuss what needs to be done. Thankfully my husband and parents-in-laws have been very helpful. And I do not work outside the house. But bed rest is definitely harder than it looks. What do you guys do to kill the time? I have 17 weeks to go.

Would love to keep in touch.
