Making the Best of Bed Rest / In case you missed my post, our son is here

After much craziness, our son Joshua was born on 4-16. I went straight from my u/s and drs visit to the hospital. they admitted me right away because my fluid was way down to 3.3. I was put on an IV overnight to try and increase my fluids but it was not enough, so I had a c-section the next morning.

Joshua weighed 6lb 15 oz and was 20 inches long. He is healthy and we are greatful that we made the decision to have him.  I truly believe he was in danger.

Well I thought I could handle it and I thought it would all get better but I don't think I can. It's all too much. I'm not even that excited about the baby coming. I think I may need to talk to my dr about it. I wanted to avoid taking meds again, but I may have to. I had post partum with my first child and bouts of depression before that so I know that I am predisposed to have it happen again.

Anyone else where I am?

Preterm Labor: Anything and Everything / 15mm cervix length

So I have a question, if any of you know the answer. My cervix is now down to 15mm which is 1.5 cm and I was reading on one of the  pages of keep em cookin that that at 34 weeks, which I will be on Fri, I have a 50%  chance of going into labor early.
My dr said it could be normal to be this short at this stage, but from what I have read online it says avg cerv length at 34 weeks is 3.0 cm. I also have some funneling and I may have lost some of my mucous plug. I guess Im just not sure what to expect.

My dr said the baby would be fine if it was born now, but I would prefer to go to term of course. She also told me that if I went into labor after 34 weeks they wouldnt stop it.

I have a question. Once they find that your cervix is shorter than normal, does the dr continue to re-check it.

My cervix was last checked almost 2 weeks ago and it measured 22mm and the dr wants it no shorter than 25mm. I go back to the dr on Tuesday and I called the nurse to find out from the dr if she was going to recheck my length and she told me that the dr said she didnt think it was neccecary unless I was having more sxs. I found this quite odd and wondered what other drs do.  I plan on talking to the dr myself when I go on tuesday, but I dont think I should have to be the one to insist on it. I was the one who asked her to check it in the first place when I was having so many contractions.

Any thoughts

Hello,

I am new to the board. I was having cramps and contractions at 26 weeks. I went to L&D and they said my cervix was closed and I was not dilated and the ffn was negative. At my follow up with my ob the next day they mesaured my cerv length and it was 22mm and she said that they want it no less than 25mm. So I was put on bedrest. I had my cervix remeasured yesterday and it measured 39mm. It was a different tech and I remember that the baby's head was down the first time so I was wondering if that could make a difference.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? My dr is still keeping me on bedrest and I go back on tuesday for another check.
