This grea at news Laura and hope all goes well for your planned Caesar.
I can't believe I'm now at 36 weeks and after a huge drop in cervical length I've been stable the whole time! My ob hasn't even bothered to measure my length any more as she said from this stage it doesn't really matter and its normal for it to shorten anyway. So strange.
Bub is 2/5 engaged and if I don't go beforehand our plan us to be induced on 13 June, I'll be 39 weeks and a few days by then.
Good luck to everyone else who us on this journey and know it is possible! Xx

Yes, I'm trying my best to continue to rest but it's hard with three active older children who get bored easily..and I totally relate to your close and yet so far comment, I feel like I've been pregnant forever..it will almost be a shock to have an actual baby at the end of all this!
They did check my cervical length at the 19 week mark but it was all completely normal. However something happened in the meantime and I had a tiny tiny bleed at around 23 weeks. I wasn't concerned as I could feel movement and I'd had some bleeding earlier in the pregnancy and it had been fine. But when I told my ob a day or so later she said she wanted to be conservative and sent me for an immediate scan. Thank goodness for her as that was when they found my cervix had shortened dramatically over a space of a few weeks! I will always be very grateful to her for saving my Bub, as I think if I had been in the public system they may not have been so thorough.

Hi Laura whereabouts are you? I'm in Australia too ( Dee why Sydney) but never heard about this clinic. My doctor is very supportive but it seems like a lot of people don't know about preterm labour risks here..when I first found out I had a shortened cervix (1.7 cm at around 24 weeks) the ultrasound people didn't really think it was a huge concern and I remember going for a huge walk after and doing a big grocery shop!! It was only after my ob saw the results later that afternoon rang me in a panic telling me I should rest!!! I'm now 34 weeks and still going thankfully! ??

I think on one of my tests showed a slightly elevated immune response so meant to help with that? Or blood thinning as on so much bed rest? Hmmm

Thanks Kay Kay. Maybe not so relevant to me as I'm not experiencing contractions or tightenings? I think I have magnesium in my multivitamin as well. I'm also on a half dose of aspirin and I'm not sure what exactly that is for! ?

I was told I need to be fully horizontal and even with a cushion under my bottom if possible. Lying is definitely better than sitting. The whole point is to work against gravity and keep downward pressure off your cervix, at least that is what my doctor said...
