Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Roll Call for Monday May 23rd
« on: May 23, 2011 at 03:56 PM »
Hello all, I am at 32 weeks +1, which is great. I had a regular U/S last Tuesday and the little one had gone from 2lbs 3 oz, to 3 lbs 4oz, which meant she went from the 18th percentile to the 31st.  We are so happy with that, it means she hasn't stopped growing so that they will try to leave her in there. Tomorrow is the U/S where they measure my cervix again and I am really worried, but who wouldn't be? She is head down and squirmy so there is always a lot of pressure on my abdomen, but nothing that I would call contractions, Braxton Hicks or otherwise. Here's hoping everything goes well tomorrow. Other than that the weekends aren't so bad, it's during the week when I am by myself all day and everyone else is working so no one calls or visits (Thank God for Facebook and email!). Gets a little lonely, I tend to have a bit of a breakdown on Fridays. I am still on modified bed rest, so I can still drive myself places, but I limit my walking and definitley resume my position on the couch when I get home.

Hang in there everyone!

Hi all, still cooking at 31 +1, which is pretty good. I had an appointment last Tuesday and the baby got an 8 out of 8 in the ultrasound. My next appointment is tomorrow, where they will do the baby's weight, which we are praying she gained since she was really low weight last time. She's a crazy little mover so I hope we can actually get a picture of her face this time. My BP was good at the dr's this morning (transplant), so I hope it stays that way for tomorrow. The other concern is my cervix (duh), but I am hoping it didn't shrink anymore because they threatened full bed rest. The little one seems to be trying to find more space so I hope that means she gained something. My fingers are crossed for a good appointment tomorrow, where I go and come home with no changes.

I hear you on the hospital food - can anyone bring you in food? I had to do that after awhile because I couldn't eat what they were trying t feed me and my moral was really low and I needed to feed the baby.

What's Your Story? Tell us. / Modified Bed rest at 29 weeks+5

I just got home after 15 days at the hospital, I have a kidney transplant and went into rejection, have had a nephrostomy tube put in for hydrophoresis in the transplanted kidney and also had an infection in the kidney as well. But, I am home now and am trying to figure out just what modified bed rest is. I am allowed to drive and I have to go places as I have a ton of dr's appointments. The plan is that my little girl will be pre-term, but the hope is to keep her in as long as possible as she is still very tiny. I love in a very rural area quite far away from my work and friends so it is likely that I won't have a lot of visitors. I also know that I am lucky that I am this far along before being put on modified bed rest. I was off for 3 months in 2008, but this time there will be a little baby at the end of it so I intend to take is way more seriously.
