Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: How did you adjust physically and emotionally after bedrest?

Being a fitness instructor and personal trainer, I was bummed when I had to be on bedrest due to an incompetent cervix. I had to come to terms with the fact that I was going to lose muscle tone and strength. I was on bedrest for 12 weeks and had my son at 37w6d. The first week was rough physically and emotionally, which I'm sure is true for anyone after giving birth. I was actually surprised that after a week i was feeling good physically or so I thought! After my 6 week checkup and I was released to start working out again I was so excited! Then I went on my 1st walk pushing the stroller and realized how out of shape I was because I had been on bedrest. I was frustrated but I just kept telling myself that I was on bedrest and it was worth every minute! I didn't really have any emotional issues except with breastfeeding which has nothing to do with being on bedrest. I'm still hanging in there with breastfeeding but it was one of the most difficult things for me.
All in all, for me, I didn't let being on bedrest beat me. I tried to keep a positive attitude 99% of the time! I was blessed and very thankful for my husband, family, and friends!
