Its such a downer when docs tells you viability and chances. Everytime i make it to my goal week im being told i gotta make to this and that week! Since you are already leaking fluid, i would take it very easy and really think about being strict with your bedrest. Drink plenty of water. Keep reading positive and successful stories with the same situation as you. Keep your hips elevated as much as you can and again stay laying down and DRINK PLENTY.

@preettyrebel: they never specified to me what bedrest mean but this is what i did. My cervix length was at .56 at 22 weeks with funneling and bulging membrane.

-no sitting up unless i am using bedside commode
-i ate laying down
-no shower til 26 weeks once a week only the rest is sponge bath. 2 showers a week at 28 weeks
-lay down ALL THE TIME i was never up, no sitting, no standing.
-to prevents clots, my mom would give me leg massage daily and i move my toes and legs while laying down
-since i was in hospital, it was easier for my bed to be adjusted to tredelenberg position. I was in that position all day everyday.
-i did not see outside for 8 weeks! The only time i can peek ouside the window is when i have to get up to use my bedside commode.
-so i am laying down 95% of the time to prevent any pressure to my cervix.

So thats what i did and what worked for me. I feared of rupture membrane cause my docs kept mentioning it thats why i was strict with my bedrest.

I made it to 8 weeks of doing just that. At 30 weeks they checked my cervix and Docs said it had improved and was sent home. I am now home for 4 weeks with continued bedrest but not strict anymore. I am currently 33.6 weeks-i now eat sitting, i shower whenever with a shower chair, i cook while in wheelchair and my mom assisting me, i go shopping using a scooter, i eat out a few days a week. I am still laying down most of the time. I also have a wheelchair to help me around the house. I still dont walk around. By being up i mean i use a wheelchair.

Welcome Cyeraheck! I dont know anything about ureaplasma but it is a relief that antibiotics could resolve it. If ur nurse is right then after your dose of antibiotics, your cervix may lengthen! Take it easy. Stay positive. Take bedrest very seriously. I am not carrying twins but at 22 weeks my cervix went all the way down to .56 i was admitted to hospital bedrest for 2 months and now ive been home for 4 weeks continued bedrest. I was very strict with my bedrest cause doc feared rupture membrane since my cervix is almost non existent even after a cerclage. I am happy to say bedrest and progesterone helped me get to 33.5 weeks. Stay strong.

Hi Christined! Ive read posts here about mamas with broken water bag and still made it with healthy babies. They do need to be monitored very closely for infections and in strict bedrest. There is hope for you and baby. I would do the same as you to wait it out. I wish you best of luck. Stay strong. Pray always.

Welcome Preettyrebel! This is my 3rd pregnancy. I am currently 33.4 weeks. My last pregnancy was a loss at 20 weeks due to cervix shortening with funneling. It was shorter than u are now. We found out too late. I was only on progesterone suppositories for 2 days and water broke. Now this pregnancy, i am currently taking the suppositories nightly and procardia to prevent contractions cause then it will cause my cervix to shorten more. I had a cerclage done at 12.5 weeks but still funneled down to the stitch at 22 weeks with a length of .56cm. I was put on hospital bedrest for 2 months and was sent home at 30 weeks for continued bedrest. my experience being in a strict (self imposed strict) bedrest really did help with my cervix holding strong although i have a cerclage, my docs said that at 22 weeks i had a bulging membrane and they were concern it might break unless i follow strict bedrest. I was very strict. I did not get up unless i use my bedside commode. No showers only sponge until i was 28 weeks. I ate lying down. I slept tredelenberg position. My mom did massage my legs when she can to avoid clots. I prayed hard and kept my faith over fear. It was hard specially in the beginning. In your case, im not saying to do what i do..but its what worked for me. Even when the docs told me i could start shower at 24 weeks...i was still scared so i did not shower til 28 weeks. They did not really specify to me what bedrest means as well but reading all the success stories here and how they did their bedrest motivated me to do the same. There are more success stories with starting off strict bedrest in the beginning than not. Stay strong.

Msjlow12 i too have been diagnosed with GD. My fasting sugar was low 90's but my MFM said he wants me at 80's so he started me with Glyburide 2.5mg (cut in half) at bedtime. Now my fasting is around 83-87. I have to check my sugar 1 hr after eating as are they wanting for me to stay below 120 1 hr after meals??!!! Thats like starving myself! So i follow orders but after i check sugar after 1 hr of meal i get a nice snack. But you know what whenever i go see my doc he is really only concern of the fasting sugar...soo...idk...maybe i can eat a little more.

Hello! I am 33.4 weeks today. I finally bought 4 baby clothings and will be getting his bassinet sometime this week. I am looking forward to my husband cleaning out my car so we can install the carseat already. I am also looking forward to my appt with my so curious when he would take me off bedrest and when my cerclage be taken out. I feel so blesssed that after being on bedrest since 22 weeks, i am finally in my 30's and only 2 more weeks before my ultimate goal! I am thankful to God for keeping me preggers this long and for keeping me strong. My prayers and keeping strong with my faith really helped me stay positive.

Hi Mimisid! I dont really count fetal movement. All i know is that baby moves a lot early morning and late at night...also after eating. I am 33 weeks now and i do feel less movement compare to when i was in my 20's. Since you are 36-37 weeks already, it could be because baby just has no room to move around. Try eating something sweet or drinking something sweet and cold see if that will trigger the babe to move.

Hello ladies! This is my 2nd week of modified bedrest after being in strict hospital bedrest for 8 weeks. I am currently 32.4 weeks and very blessed that God has gotten me this far. My ultimate goal is to reach 36 weeks but I am grateful for everyday that i stay preggers. My doc is now allowing me to go out to restaurants for dinner or so. I did just that 2 days ago and was very happy about it. Yesterday, i ordered a car seat from amazon. Next week maybe a bassinet. Baby nursery is non existent right now. I have no stuff for baby just baby blanket that was gifted to me by a friend. As much as i want to go all out on still not comfortable with getting stuff. Hopefully seeing the carseat will give me the courage to buy more baby stuff.

Hi Sara. 31 weeks is a really big milestone to reach. You are only days to being 32 weeks. I started bedrest at 22.5 weeks and still on bedrest now at 32.3 weeks although its not as strict as when i was in hospital anymore. First couple of weeks of bedrest will be hard but you will learn how to occupy yourself. I was in hospital bedrest for 7 1/2 weeks and 2 weeks at home now. I did a lot of netflix, i watched a lot of court tv on youtube, and read books. I also journal my daily bedrest life and write a little message for the baby at the end. Stay strong.

Will be praying for you and baby mimisid! I had an appt with my mfm yesterday and all measurement is good but he mentioned that baby's belly is a bit in a small side. His heartbeat is steady and good. Doc is not worried. I am trying not to worry too. I will have a follow up next week. Stay strong.

Welcome jacthweatt! Not familiar with low fluid but i have read on here many ladies that did go through with the same situation as you and made it with a healthy baby at the end. There are some who had busted their water bag and stayed at bedrest and still make it for weeks. Just make sure you are strict with your bedrest and hydrate yourself plenty. I have heard that delivering the baby at 34 weeks is better than trying to keep them in longer due to possibility of infection. A friend of mine had her baby at 34 weeks due to pre e and they both came home together. No NiCU time for the babe.

Preterm Labor: Anything and Everything / Re: Progesterone?
« on: October 07, 2016 at 03:02 PM »
Stillexpecting: when i first found out im pregnant again this time around i really thought cerclage and progesterone shot would be what they would recommend for me. After a consult with my MFM, he did not recommend the shot due to HE SAID some studies showd that it could actually irritate ur uterus and can start contractions. So, i had cerclage at 12.6 weeks then started suppositories at 16 weeks...never had a problem since. When i was admitted to the hospital they added Procardia 10mg q 8 hrs to prevent contractions in case cause i started funneling to the stitch at 22.5 weeks. Im home now and still taking Procardia and Progesterone. I know suppositories is messy but i learned to deal with it. I just turned 32 weeks yesterday by God's grace...i am extremely grateful yo make it this far along.
