Msjlow12: you should check with your docs about stool softener. I never had any problems with BM until they put me in hospital. Now i get colace 2x daily. It  has been a big big help. Docs said being constipated will irritate my uterus and could cause contactions. I also drink prune juice in the morning.

Haiku117: i'm now at 24 weeks. Im in the hospital for strict bedrest. They have fiven me colace for stool softener and procardia to prevent contractions. Today i will be getting my 1st round of steroid shots to mature baby's lungs. I had my cerclage done at 13 weeks everything was fine until i had  a visit with my MFM last week and since im an "expert" now of looking funneling and how they measure stuff thanks to "Dr. Google," i saw right away the funnel and that my the measurement was .6mm. Right away they admitted me to hospital and now im here for 7 more weeks. Only to get up to us the privvy. I even requested to have a bedside commode so i dont have to walk to the bathroom. My mom said that when she gets here she will want me to be in bedpan...ohh geez! As long as cleans it up. Just stay in bed and rest. Do not give up hope. Have faith ovee fear. Keep your hip elevated. Docs dont have me on tredelengberg but for my own sanity and no what ifs, i elevate my hips at all times ever since ive been here. I have a sore neck and shoulders but i know what im doing will be worth it at the end. Hang in there! How long are they keeping u in the hospital?

Rosebud: your words are so encouraging. I am 23.6 today and one day before the viability. God willing i can make it to my long term of 36 but i will be ok with 33 or 34 too. When you say "adjusted age" what did you mean? Everytime they measure my baby he always measures 1 week ahead than his gestational age. I wonder if that would mean anything. My docs said that they would not change his age based on his measurement but i wonder if maybe ultrasound in the beginning was just wrong.

Soblessed: thank you! My OB, MFM, and the Neonatologist said that at 24 weeks they would give me the steroids in case the baby comes early to help mature his lungs. Then every two weeks or so after 24 weeks.

Yesy14: i read a lot of ladies in this forum having water leakage and still able to make it far. Make sure you are always hydrated and stay in bed. Are they going to keep u in hospital for the duration of ur pregnancy? I know how scary it it is cause im also in the same situation. Im in hospital bed rest for 8 weeks. I am 23.5 now with a cerclage but still have funneling and shortening. They want me in bed unless i have to go to the bathroom. I cant even shower yet. Keep yourslef occupied. My first dew days in hospital was tough. Its still hard for me but i am getting used to my routine. I make friends with the CNA, housekeeper, and nurses so they stay in my room longer and talk to me. Prayers to you and your babies.

In 2 days my doc will  decide if he will give me shower priviledge!!!! He does not want me getting up unless its for #1 or #2 thats it! Im laid up here in the hospital with my neck sore. I do sponge bath by myself in bed and i had my hair washed one time this week.

Soblessed: you will enjoy game of thrones it is very
interesting book. I am on the 4th series already. I am currently watching Arrested Development but its getting boring to me now. I dont want to watch anything too serious right now. I want to just watch something brainless. Im thinking about going back to watch Frasier or Friends again. My mom will here on thursday. Im excited about that. Did they give you your steroid shots yet since u are now at 24+ weeks?

Reema: congrats on making it to your 30+ weeks! I have firiends asking me if would want some baby clothes but even before i was hospitalized I was not excited to receiving or getting anything baby stuff because of my previous loss. My last pregnancy i bought so many baby clothes that i just ended up having to give away. When i found out about my pregnancy now, i told myself no baby stuff until i reached my 30's.

Bloosominspring: before you know it you will be 24 weeks. Right now your brain is adjusting with the fact that you have to be in modified bed rest. It will seem slow at first but you will have a routine and time will fly. I'm only finishing my 1st week out of 8 weeks in the hospital. My first few days were tough. I miss my husband. I miss my home. I miss my pets...but im trying to be strong. My toughest time for me is at night...i still get emotional and cry myself to sleep. BUT anywhooo...we can do this!!!!

Hello ladies!! 23.4 weeks today-praying everyday that God will bless me with more weeks. Short term goal on calendar is to get to 24 weeks which is this thursday. Being in the hospital bed rest is sooooo boring... i lay here watch the olympics, netflix, read bible, read game of thrones, color, sleep, check the forum and repeat.... im getting used to it and my emotional state is getting better i think. I cant wait for my mom to be here to stay with me in the hospital.

Soblessed: idk how your mental state would affect preterm but i would probably stay away from being stressed with work right now. I would just concentrate on cooking the baby longer. Im already stressed enough being on bed rest, i dont want to contribute anymore to my mental condition.

@msjlow12: hospital have me taking colace twice a day. I did not really have problem with gas or constipation before bed rest. But now since being here for 5 days constipation is my enemy so colace had been helping me. Why are they waiting to admit you at 20 weeks?

@msjlow12: welcome! I am also on bed rest but in the hospital. I will be here for 8 weeks. I am 23.3 weeks today and God willing hoping to make it in the 30's. I was put in bedrest last tuesday after seeing my MFM for a cervical lenght which showed shortening and funneling. I promised myself to stop googling and sticking to this forum only. There are so many success stories here that inspire me everyday. Congrats to you for making it farther than your last one. Prayers to you and the baby.
How are you keeping urself busy?
Are you at home?

@soblessed: the room has tv. I have magazines. I can stream netflix and hbogo. I just am not able to concentrate on any of it. I tend to keep googling about my condition and the success of having cerclage and being on bed rest. I want so bad reassurance from docs but of course they always say it depends blah blah... im hangin in there. Im excited that my mom will be here next week to be with me while im on hospital bed rest to keep me company. I will include you and your baby in my prayers.

@soblessed: thank you! It is hard being on bed rest. My husband has visited me twice daily before and after work. He has been so supportive but i feel so helpless. I hate that he sees me like this. I cry everytime he leaves..

Are you on bedrest in hospital or at home? Did you have a cerclage?

Hello ladies! This is my first roll call. I am currently 23 weeks today. This is my 3rd pregnancy. My first one was a mc at 9wks and my second one at 20 wks due to incompetent cervix. As of today, baby Inam is 23 weeks old. I have been on bedrest since tuesday after visiting my mfm. I was told that i am funneling down to my stitch (cerclage) and needed to be on hospital bedrest with only restroom priviledge. So here I am. Trying to stay positive and praying muliple times a day specially when i start to feel depressed, concern, scared, or just dissaponted. Docs said our goal is to reach 24 wks then set a new goal after that. I am laying to my sides and my hips propped up. I will be here for 8 weeks and i am so happy to find this forum to have he same ladies on bed rest with me that i talk to. I wish all of us luck and prayers to all of you.

Congratulations to all the ladies that made it to their set goals! It is only been 2 days for me...kuddos to all the ladies who made with weeks on bed rest! You are my inspiration. I am going to throw a 24 weeks old party for my baby next friday with cake and ice cream!!
