My kids are about as close as you can get them, although I do know several others with children that are closer. My first two are a year and 10 days apart and if this one makes it until the due date it will be just over 11 months after the second! 3 children just before the oldest is two! It is CRAZY! My first two pregnancies were without complication except for the fact that the first was born at 35 weeks and the second at 34 (I will be 34 weeks tomorrow so I'm becoming increasingly more paranoid about everything that's going on with my body) weeks! So this is all so new and so hard!

I am so glad they were able to do something to help you out! It is so nice to hear about proactive doctors, although I have very proactive doctors, I think they might be a little to proactive but that's just because I've been stewing in a hospital for 6 weeks =P I noticed you said that your oldest is only 16 months... I have had my children closer together than that but I was just wondering if they might have said something about your having the kids "close together" being the reason for the "incompetent" cervix? My doctor didn't seem to think that it had much to do with that (that's what started all this and then PTL lead me to dilate to a 5) but said that could be part of the reason. Anyway, so glad things are going good and hope strict bedrest isn't on the horizon for you again!

I know what you mean =) Coming in the hospital at 28 weeks and dilated to 5 I thought for sure I was going to be a NICU momma! My doctors thought for sure I was going to have that baby and every time I see one of the four doctors from the MFM they're so shocked that I'm still pregnant! Unfortunately transferring back to the hospital in my hometown wasn't an option for me at 32 weeks because they don't deliver babies under 35 weeks (although my son was born right before 35 weeks there after they did an ultrasound and he had high scores). If I haven't dilated further or things aren't much different (5 and 70%) I get to go home Saturday when I hit 34 weeks! I never thought I'd make it this far and I think every day that goes by I get more and more paranoid about everything! My grandma bought some Preemie girl clothes a couple weeks ago and I just cried... I don't want to spend one day in the NICU!

Hold your head high and things are going to be just fine! You have made it this far... what's another 2 weeks! Then, just for sh--s and giggles you'll add on a couple more! We all have to remember that doctors aren't always right and child birth is almost completely unpredictable! I for one cannot wait to see my regular OB and see what she has to say to me! I'm gonna walk up in there and be like "Look at this super momma!!! And you all doubted me so bad" hahaha! It's going to be amazing to have these healthy babies here even though we have been getting by on "weeks". So.... I think you'll make it to 32 weeks! Anything beyond that is great but shoot for 34 of course and then 36 weeks, just because after all of this you deserve a bit more of a piece of mind! So don't lose hope because at long as nothing is going on then you've got all the hope in the world!!! Just know that you might have to help your baby fight for it but you will be holding your little one in the near future and you will be so ecstatic!!! Good luck girly... I know the whole hospital thing... Been here 6 weeks almost and I'm dying to get out of here but am glad for the time I've spent here!

Yay I am so happy for you guys! I am so glad to hear this good news =) I hope you're having a wonderful time!

Ahhh... I am sorry to hear that you're having a rough time =( It's always good to hear that kids are being a big help and taking the whole mommy not being able to do anything right now well... or as good as they can =) A lot of times you hear of kids developing temporary behavior issues or something like that! My kids are young so they haven't really noticed! My daughter is 21 months old and I think she just started being "affected" by my not being there (I've been in the hospital almost 6 weeks now) because she's just saying Mommy all the time and freaking out if Dad won't give her the phone so she can "talk" to me =) It's cute but I am thankful I am supposed to be headed home this weekend so I'll at least be there for a couple more weeks on bedrest and then maybe even a couple more off of bedrest!

My husband was unemployed when all this happened so what was a horrible thing turned out to be not such a bad thing! He does a few things that I'm like "really" for too! Like giving the kids a bath =O I think they might get a bath once a week... horrible I know... And my poor daughter NEVER has matching clothes on... like really? Jeans and a t-shirt would be 10x better than bright pink pants and a blue shirt with purple on it or something... It's crazy! Sometimes she looks homeless! My son looks decent most of the time though... haha! Anyway... he takes care of a 21 month old, a 9 month old, two dogs, and the house (kind of... i know there's tons of laundry waiting for my return to a normal life) full time so I can't give him to hard of a time, but I still can a little ;) Props to your husband for supporting you, I'm sure he wishes he could be there more for you and your daughter and of course your little one!

It is nice to see the "finish line"... And your's is right around the corner! It's almost over!!! And it sure will be worth it in the end and this will all be a distant memory when it's all said and done! Is your daughter excited about her new sibling??? I sure hope so, you're both doing a lot for them!!! Good luck and I hope you have a great Mother's Day and a better last couple of weeks before you have to get back to the daily grind with two kids =D

Still here... 33 weeks along now =) Should be going home SATURDAY (34 weeks along) after a little over 6 weeks in the hospital!!! So super excited that I will most likely be home for Mother's Day =) Talk about perfect timing! Had a good weekend and hoping for a speedy Mon-Fri =) Hope you all are doing well!

Angela is SO right =) Those babies could have been here a long time ago if it wasn't for you dedication to bedrest =) I know my little girl would be here already if I hadn't brought myself back to the hospital when I did! So you have done GREAT and will soon be rewarded and not even think about it!

Well the only natural way I know it to take it easy and drink a lot of water! If you feel contraction lie on your left side... Other than that I have never heard of any other way to keep contractions and labor at bay! Good luck =D

I've never heard of this happening and it's never happened to me! ugh... how ucky! I hope it goes away soon!

My experience with contractions is that usually "early on" they do feel like your belly just tightens into a ball! I never had really painful contractions until I get a little further dilated. I dilated to 5 when I was last having regular contractions and those were painful before they got them to stop. The stronger they get the more pressure they seem to put on my bladder and I have to go to the bathroom all the time and then they start to radiate into my back. So yeah... you'll know if you're having them (everyone used to tell me that and I was like whatever but it's the truth). I just feel like they were more painful the more dilated I became. I am still dilated to 5 and have small contractions every now and then that are just that tightening feeling but for the most part if I have an irregular contraction I can feel it really low and it's pretty much like a little beyond severe period cramp. A lot of other people on here are much better at describing their contractions so hopefully they'll help you out a little to :)

No one seemed to think it was very serious...

I was nauseous all day yesterday and had some saltines for breakfast and a couple bites of my lunch and dinner. The cramping and back pain subsided around early afternoon so I haven't said anything about that. I'm feeling pretty good today though, had a bowl of cereal for breakfast and it seems to be settling pretty good =)

6 more days in this dreaded hospital!!!!!!!!! I am really looking forward to busting out of here and getting a chance to spend some time at home before our new little lady shows up! I hope it all works out so I get a little break from the hospital! Been here almost 40 days (sounds a lot worse than a little over 5 weeks) and will be 43 when it's all said and done! It's just in time I think because we can tell that my daughter is really starting to feel my absence because anytime I'm on the phone she cries and cries to talk to me (even though I don't know what she's telling me, I like to think she's saying she misses me and for me to get home!). Yesterday was SOOO cute though... My husband had to set down the phone to take care of my son so my daughter runs over and grabs it and says "Hiiii" like she normally does and then I said hi back and then plain as day, out of no where she was like "I love you Mommy!!!" I was so PROUD of her! Absolutely made my day!

I am just bored and not feeling too hot today so I just thought I would type up something =P Yesterday I was very crampy and had moderate lower back pain all day. I understand this could be from lack of movement and lying in a bed all day but I think things should be taken a bit more seriously. I told my nurse last night because the cramping got worse and then I was getting really nauseous and she's leaves the room and is like "I hope your tummy feels better". What?? I just told you I was in pain and have been for most of the day and she's treating me like I'm a child who hasn't already (and recently) had two children. Not to mention we should take it a little seriously because I'm already dilated to 5! I feel like any time I've even mentioned anything about a contraction or pain it's brushed off as absolutely nothing and that I just need to go pee! Ugh... I know what is normal and what is okay, I don't complain about much but if it's enough for me to say something, it's probably more than your other patients would tolerate! I don't like making big deals of nothing! Does anyone else who has been on hospital bedrest feel the same way?

I know what you mean... I know I won't be "pissed" but I will be like WHAT IN THE HECK if I've sat in this hospital for 6 weeks and then make it full term! I hope your plans for a vaginal delivery will still be possible... Good luck and congratulations on making it through all this though =)
