Making the Best of Bed Rest / Re: Roll Call for Monday February 14th

Good luck aylw88!  Keep thinking happy thoughts.  I'll send some your way.  If the doctor's aren't too concerned, follow their lead.

Welcome!

Sounds like you are keeping a positive attitude despite your tough situation.  You are in the best place possible , like you said.
Just as much as things can change quickly - things can go weeks and weeks without changing.  I have been on bed rest for 12 weeks now.  When I first was put on bed rest I thought there was no way I would make it this far, yet here I am.
The good news is that you are even far along with this baby than you were when you had your first, so that has to be some comfort.  Try to stay calm and positive - its the best thing you can do.
Be sure to check out the Monday Roll Call posts - there's always a lot of activity there.

I JUST LOST MY MUCUS PLUG.  I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow.  My mind is racing right now.  Should I call the doctor, should I not?  No contractions or anything.  What now?  I guess it could still be weeks before I go into labor, is that true??

That's awesome.
When is your due date Christina?  Does your doctor think you'll make it the entire 40 weeks?
I'm 36 weeks also (well, 37 tomorrow).

That's great news.  My guess is the best rest has more to do to cervical length than 17p.  My understanding was that 17p just keeps the cervix soft so it won't contract, is that right?
And that is SO AWESOME that you may get excused from bed rest!  I hope it works out for you.

Keewee,

If you call around a few places - you may be able to find someone willing to come to your home and cut your hair, give you a manicure, etc.  A friend found someone who would do that for me - it cost a little extra - but it was totally worth it!  If anyone is in the Dayton, Ohio area - I can give you a connection.
Good luck.

Sorry about the news.  And I'm sorry that one of the people doing your ultrasounds is um.....'unsure of herself'.
Hang in there.  I wish my doctors had seen some sort of warning sign and done something so that my twins would still be here.  But you have your doctor's attention obviously, and they are going to help you.  Hopefully this pump is going to allow you to stay pregnant many many many more weeks!  When I went on bed rest (12 weeks ago now!), I never thought I would make it this far along.  Just keep following the doctor's orders and all of this will be worth it in the end, when you finally get to your happy ending!

Let me know what the pump is like.

So, maybe one of you ladies can shed some light on this:
I had some sort of something this morning..... Felt like a stabbing pain wear an ovary would be.  If I moved around it got worse, and the pain spread across all the right side of my belly.  I started drinking some water.  This lasted about 7 minutes.  It was starting to subside, and of course I almost instantly had to pee from drinking the water - so I tried to get out of bed and the movement made the pain come back.  By this time my husband had woken up so I told him I needed to pee but couldn't get up, so he helped me to the bathroom.  After emptying my bladder the pain instantly went away and I felt better.  Isn't that crazy?  So my question - would that be considered ligament pain, a braxton hicks contraction?  I don't think it counts as a real contraction since I didn't feel it all over.
This pain (minus the bladder relief part of the story) has happened two other times this week.  It's always happens when I'm in the bed.

And...   @ Melody  - thanks!

Try to keep your spirits up tntmom.  The 25th is only 11 days away.  It will be great for the baby if you can make it that far.
Keep posting - we're here for you!
Think about the positives - do you have a name picked out for the baby yet?

I'm still cooking.  36 weeks & 4 days today -> I've officially made it to my doctor's goal now.
I'm getting excited about the birth, but also scared.  Something could still go wrong - it is possible.  Maybe I'm just Debbie Downer?  I just don't take things for granted anymore - after last time.

My husband gave me a very sweet Valentine's card this morning.  He wrote that he was 'proud of me' and I'm 'still beautiful'.  Ooohhhh - so sweet!   :-*  Too bad I can't go out and get him a card.  He is the one that deserves it.

Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day fellow bed-resters!

tntmom,  Sounds like things are looking up.  I hope you stay 'completely closed' till Monday, if not much longer!
