Nifedipine does help to limit those tighten feelings and contractions. But, we don't know if it helps to keep the cervix stable, the way progesterone does.

My doctor suggest an abdominal cerclage if I wanted to have another child, since my most recent & 1st pregnancy was with a cerclage. Also bed rest for over 4 months.

Spent 12 weeks taking nifedipine almost daily and had no side effects from it.  It actually lowered my blood pressure.

They are really big for twins which is causing most of my problems, but I made it this far on modified bestrest, so don't give up hope yet.  We will probably end up having to be induced after all of this.  Stay positive!

The nifedipine seemed to do the "trick" at the time while I was taking it because contractions were not an issue afterwards during my daily monitoring.  However, the dose i was on caused me to have extremely lowered blood pressure which caused me to pass out a few times.

I know I have four more days I swear I have never paid attention to days or times as much as I do now I love when it gets dark cuz that is one more day  almost over lol  so do you feel him moving all the time.

 I was on mag from 26 weeks to 28 weeks when I was transitioned to nifedipine.  My doctor was sonsitently on the phone with my insurance company to discuss the off label use, but worked!  I was in the hospital from 26-30 and I went home to full bed rest...made it to 36...you can DO this.

Congrats on making it so far! I'm afraid I can't offer any insight, because DS was born before I stopped (I was having the weekly injections). But you're in the safe zone now!
