Just checking in!

I'm 25 weeks this week & hanging in there...I finally had 2 meltdowns over the weekend since coming home from the hospital to continue bed rest sigh...My mother ditched me & now I'm home alone during the day  :-X it's not bad, just gotta plan my meals & have them at arm's reach! Still...I knew my mother would pull this on me eventually ugh..

I have my dr's appointment & a ultrasound on Wednesday..I'm a little wary, my baby has been nudging my cervix recently again & it is insanely sensitive that my toes curl ugh! I'm hoping I haven't shortened, I'll just lose it if I'm readmitted into the hospital again  :(

I'm still cooking.  36 weeks & 4 days today -> I've officially made it to my doctor's goal now.
I'm getting excited about the birth, but also scared.  Something could still go wrong - it is possible.  Maybe I'm just Debbie Downer?  I just don't take things for granted anymore - after last time.

My husband gave me a very sweet Valentine's card this morning.  He wrote that he was 'proud of me' and I'm 'still beautiful'.  Ooohhhh - so sweet!   :-*  Too bad I can't go out and get him a card.  He is the one that deserves it.

Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day fellow bed-resters!

Ugh, made it through another week....it is getting harder and harder instead of easier and easier.  I'm 28 weeks this week, my personal goal is 34 and it seems like it's taking forever to get there.  I've never wished time to pass by so quickly in my life before.  So far no breakdown today, but it is only 11:00, plenty more time in this day to go :(.

Doctors appointment tomorrow, hoping for a miracle and that my cervix will have gone from 1.6 to 3.6 and I'm off of bedrest haha, yea right - a girl can dream can't she?
Baby Gia, due May 10th....bedrest since 1/25/11 at 25 weeks, due to shortened cervix (1.6).
C-section scheduled for May 3rd, yea!!!

Still cookin at the hospital. Not leaking quite as much fluid as I was over the weekend. Baby scored 6 out of 8 on biophysical ultrasound. We never caught him practice breathing or hiccuping. However we have caught hiccups on the NST multiple times. My blood sugars are finally coming back down after being so out of whack from the steroids. Officially 32 + 2weeks. Was almost expecting baby to come today. I was feeling so horrible last night....but I guess it must have just been tummy cramps. If I'm still cooking on the 25th I will be induced because risk of infection will be higher than risk of issues for baby (34 weeks).

I'm tired because I can't sleep in these beds. I feel horrible but I feel done. I've had multiple meltdowns in the past two days and it's getting really hard to keep it together in general. My older kiddo is sick and so I can't see him until he's all better. I'm depressed but at the same time know that I'm doing the best I can for baby....doesn't make it any easier though! I guess the countdown has begun.

Taking things day by day. Good luck ladies!!!

Try to keep your spirits up tntmom.  The 25th is only 11 days away.  It will be great for the baby if you can make it that far.
Keep posting - we're here for you!
Think about the positives - do you have a name picked out for the baby yet?

Hi Everyone...I'm 24 wks 2 days today.  Have a cervical check tomorrow and a regular OB appointment.  Looking forward to things remaining the same with no significant changes.  I can't say that bed rest is getting easier, its not really getting harder either though, I'm just in a state of being. However, I feel very blessed to have made it to the point that I am.
Aniya Mckenzie - due June 4, bed rest since 14wks (12/7/10), due to IC: cerclage

I'm good today. Some of my mom's friends made us a special Valentine's Day dinner so we can still make it special. Also, my husband came home from work at lunch time to give me roses. It's funny...when I said to my husband "darn, we won't get to celebrate Valentin's Day," he said "what's new?" Ha! He's right! 3 years ago, we both had the flu and didn't celebrate. 2 years ago, I had the shingles (which is closely related to chicken pox, only instead of really itchy they are really, really painful) so we didn't celebrate. Last year, we actually did get to celebrate, which was nice because we had just gotten married. This year, again, we don't get to really celebrate the way we'd like, but oh well. We're just happy to be together. :) maybe we've developed a pattern...we only get to celebrate every 2 years, which means next year we won't get to again!

Anyway, I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow and have another appointment on Wednesday. I think things are probably still the same. I can feel the baby sooooo low and it gives me the heeby jeebies. Sometimes I feel like he's fluttering his little fingers around down there and it makes my toes curl too! Then sometimes the right side of my stomach is suddenly really tall while the other side looks flat...so weird! I know it's just because of his position, but it looks funny!
Put on bed rest at 25 weeks on January 19th with cervix measuring 2.8.
Expecting our first - baby boy Loran Lee Morgan III on May 5th.
Getting induced at 39 weeks + 1 day on Wednesday, April 27th because of preeclampsia.

Hello everyone...
I'm 19weeks, 5 days with twins, still on bedrest. Just came back from the doctor's office this morning and received less-than-welcome news. My cervix (which started out 4.2cm-14weeks, then 3.68cm-17weeks, then 2.7cm-18weeks, then 3.7cm-19weeks) is now down to 2.6cm.  :-[
I think the inconsistencies lay with the different ultrasonographers.  The one in my regular OB seems unsure of herself and mentally "slow". She's the one that always gives me the glowing reports. The fetal/maternal specialist is the one who I think is a little more "with it" in terms of accuracy. They have a better US machine too. Any who, I'm a little blue today just because I thought everything was looking up.
They are going to send someone to my house to start an implanted medication pump and home contraction monitoring. At least I'm still at home!

@ Lanespoli- Hang in there. The time DOES seem to drag, I agree. But looking back in retrospect I'm sure we won't remember how long it seemed. SO funny... time FLIES when we're about our normal lives, but since we're on bedrest it drags terribly. It never hurts to hope for miracles. Miracles happen everyday.
@ Reaghan - hang in there! You're almost there. How exciting! The delivery part is the easiest part, especially for us mothers who've had such a rough pregnancy. It will be a breeze. The pain is only for a moment (in time), and you won't remember it... truly you won't. I wasn't nervous with my daughter's labor at all, and it flew by. You've already made it through the hardest part. Keep on!
Melody
Due date: 7/7/2011
Twins (we're not finding out the sexes!)
5th pregnancy (5yrs old-put on bedrest with her @ 35wks for PIH)
3 previous losses
Put on bedrest this pregnancy @ 17weeks for Cervical shortening & preterm labor
Thanking God for each day I'm given with my twins!

So, maybe one of you ladies can shed some light on this:
I had some sort of something this morning..... Felt like a stabbing pain wear an ovary would be.  If I moved around it got worse, and the pain spread across all the right side of my belly.  I started drinking some water.  This lasted about 7 minutes.  It was starting to subside, and of course I almost instantly had to pee from drinking the water - so I tried to get out of bed and the movement made the pain come back.  By this time my husband had woken up so I told him I needed to pee but couldn't get up, so he helped me to the bathroom.  After emptying my bladder the pain instantly went away and I felt better.  Isn't that crazy?  So my question - would that be considered ligament pain, a braxton hicks contraction?  I don't think it counts as a real contraction since I didn't feel it all over.
This pain (minus the bladder relief part of the story) has happened two other times this week.  It's always happens when I'm in the bed.

And...   @ Melody  - thanks!

mckoygirl,

I feel your frustration...it's disheartening to see the cervix getting shorter & shorter sigh...hang in there, the bed rest is helping tho! At least they're on top of things & monitoring your cervical length! :)

Reaganh3,

I've had weird aches & pains too & I'll be honest, a lot of times it's been due to ligament pain or a full bladder! It scares me too cuz it really is painful & since I'm already paranoid every ache/pain gets magnified 5 times more ugh..
