Hello everyone. 22weeks tomorrow, starting into my fifth week on bedrest with twins and shortened cervix. I have an appointment Friday with my specialist to check cervical length and measure the babies. I'm just getting over a bad sinus infection which moved into my chest and exacerbated my asthma. I've been having to take breathing treatments all weekend...

Right now I'm just counting down the weeks until viability. All the aches and pains of pregnancy are starting, which make me laugh because I've always been the one to tell my pregnant patients: "That's all normal" (and implied: "You're just going to have to put your big girl panties on and deal with it!")
I believe I have two little soccer players in there, for they have hourly matches now which leave me sore!
@ Reagan - the only advice I can give you on speeding up the process is intercourse.

Sounds awful right now I know, but semen is a natural prostaglandin, which can help ripen the cervix or induce labor. In labor and delivery we use cervidil, which is a synthetic form of prostaglandin to induce or ripen for labor. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
@ Yvonne - Good for you for making it this far! I pray I make it to 35 weeks with my twins!!! Have fun with your girlfriend!
@ Arnee - I fully expect to fail the GD screening when it's time. I was borderline with my daughter and I was working out with her! There's no wonder we all turn into piles of GOO laying around like we do. Food can be a little of a comfort thing and the ONLY thing we might have some control over.
Keep on Keepin' on everyone! Slowly but surely we are getting there!
