Stuck on bed rest since May 12 when I was 14w along with my twin pregnancy.  Have 2 placenta previas and a short cervix so on strict bed rest.  for now until june 20 but meeting high risk doc june 9 to assess my situation after an u/s i'm scared i'll be extended since i keep having episodes of bleeding Sad  I'm now almost 18w along, anyone have similar stories that had good turn outs?  I'm worried about getting stuck in bed for the rest of  my pregnancy!!

Hi Flavah,

I am pg with twins too and have been put on bed rest for short cervix at 21 weeks, so I know how you are feeling. How are things going now?

It hasn't been easy I won't lie.  It's been 10 weeks I've been on strict bed rest.  I still have the PP but haven't bled in 13 days.  going back next week for an u/s to check the status.  Short cervix is gone, it is now 2.7cm or at least was 3 weeks ago, they said that they only consider it short when it's under 2.5cm

I'm trying to be hopeful that since the bleeding has stopped, babies have moved up a bit and maybe i'll be put on modified bed rest so I can resume minimal activities.

How are you holding up?

Hi, Flavah! Welcome back to the forum. I hadn't seen you for a while, so I'm relieved to hear that you are still cookin'! That's great to hear that the bleeding has stopped. I've known many women for whom the placenta previa resolved itself/moved. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Let us know how the ultrasound goes, and feel free to join us in the Chat Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2 pm Eastern. We'll be happy to help you pass the time!

update, i'm now 25 weeks along and on modified bed rest b/c I haven't bled in 3 weeks, babies are up a bit higher in my uterus but the placenta hasn't moved sadly.  Doc says there is still hope at 28 weeks and 32 weeks so fingers crossed!

Have had 3 bleeding episodes since my last post so I put myself back on strict bed rest.  Now I'm 27+1 weeks along and praying I make it to 34 weeks at least.

Good for you for listening to your body! Do you have good support from family and friends to help you adhere to your bedrest? 28 weeks is around the corner, and that's a big milestone. Of course, I'm pulling for you to make it to 34 weeks and beyond. Has your doctor done a cervix-length check lately? I'm just curious; I don't believe it would make any difference as far as treatment options since you're already on bedrest.

Keep us posted,

Oh, no. I'm so sorry to hear about the hemorrhage and full previa. Try to stay positive with that well-behaved cervix. That can go a long way in getting your several more weeks. How are you adjusting to the hospital? And how are the babies looking? I hope you've at least gotten a few extra ultrasounds out of all of this!  Wink

The babies are doing great! both weigh 2 lbs now! still a bit smaller than I'd like for them to be when delivering so that's why i want them to grow at least 2 more pounds in case they do need to come out quick.

Lots of u/s and lots of photos so that's fun Smiley

I'm adjusting well at the hospital they have been great here, the bleeding stopped a couple of days ago so they are thinking of letting me go home on strict bed rest with a home care nurse coming to see me daily to check up on me and babies.
