Monday Roll Call for October 29
« on: October 29, 2012 at 09:45 AM »
Hello, ladies!

How is everyone doing? How has the past week been? I've noticed we've had several new members join in the past few days, so please help them feel welcome!

I hope to see ALL of you in the Chat Room tomorrow at 2 pm Eastern. I'm in Maryland, so I may miss the chat if we don't have power due to the storms here, but I'm staying optimistic. If I'm not there, just jump right in and introduce yourselves.

Keep 'em cookin', mamas!

I'm still here at 34 weeks and 2 days. My doc says I need to make it until at least 35 weeks . 36 would be even better. I'm dialated to 4cm but at home still on bedrest. She didn't seem to expect me to hold on this long but my FNN was negative and I am still going! Got my ultrasound last week and my son weighs 5 lbs 5oz. He looks very healthy despite my rh- blood issues and diabetes. Now it's just a matter of keeping him in there long enough.  :)

31 weeks today with fraternal twins. I am getting bigger and more uncomfortable by the day (heartburn, back pain, breathlessness) and preparing myself for the arrival of  the babies, which I haven't dared to do until now. My parents continue to be incredibly helpful and I am hanging out for my 32 week milestone next week. My hospital bag is almost packed and I am sorting clothes my parents in law have collected from various places, which is as much nesting as I can manage. Lots of pink, despite our wish not to colour code(we have a boy and a girl) !

Good luck to you all and have a good week!

My little boy is still cookin' at 35+3! I've been on bed rest with a cerclage since 19 weeks. I'm so excited to have made it this far. Bed rest works! I'm hoping to make the chat tomorrow, but I'm in NJ, so it will depend on how we're fairing with this storm. Be safe, mamas, and rest!

37 weeks! I've technically been off bedrest for a week or so, but I'm still trying to take it easy. Don't want the baby to come just yet! I am slowly becoming more active, though. Over the next two weeks, I will transition from trying to *prevent* labor to trying to *bring on* labor, because if I don't go into labor on my own, I will be having a scheduled C-Section due to concerns about the baby's size. I'm not sure that's really a problem, because my first was born 6 lbs 15 oz at 40w4d, and our families are not exactly tall ... so I think it's just genetic. But the doctors feel it's best to not go past 39 weeks because there's a possibility the small size is due to the placenta, and as we get near 40 weeks, the placenta will only get older and not work as well.

I'm going to try to convince them to let me add a few days to my scheduled delivery date due to the fact that I know the minimum date of conception (that is ... I know that I definitely did not get pregnant before a certain date, and that date is *later* than the one estimated based on last menstrual period date ... so I *know* the placenta is a bit "younger" based on that). I will talk to both my OB and MFM about this on Wednesday, and we'll finalize a date at that time.

My history is: short cervix found at 28 weeks, hospitalized for 4 days, then at home on bed rest for the next several weeks. No change in cervix since, yay! They will check me for dilation for the first time this Wed, though, and I really hope things get going. Even if I end up with a C-Section, I want to go into labor first, and the docs agree that would be good.

Hi ladies. I've been on bed rest since 18 weeks, I’m currently 30+5 weeks (IC with a preventative cerclage placed, on progesterone). So happy to have made it to the 30's!!! Had a specialist appointment yesterday and she was very happy, she said that she will be even happier if I can make it to 32 weeks. My last CL was 2cm at 28 weeks. I'm managing to do a little bit of work now, so nice to feel like I am contributing financially to the household again. Happy cookin' everyone. Looking forward to reading everyones updates next week. Take care.

33+3 today, still in hospital with twins & grade 3 placenta previa. Starting to feel really enormous & uncomfortable in every position. Hopefully will get to see Physio today. 24 more sleeps til scheduled c-section, if I make it that long! Ultrasound later this week :)

I am 26w4d today. Had to return to the hospital over the weekend because I was feeling mildly crampy. Turns out i was having contractions and my cervix went from 3 to 1.9 over the last week. Feeling pretty scared but things are stable right now. They gave me magnesium which stopped the contractions and now i am on procardia. I had an ffn test that came back negative which gives me hope. I'm going to have an ultrasound this week to see if my cervix is still changing. It's hard to be in the hospital with my little one at home but i know it's for the best. I am trying not to get too stressed out and focus on good thoughts. Good luck to all you other ladies over the next week!

Morning ladies,

Well I'm 16 weeks today (tuesday) and after a long weekend in bed I saw my Doc yesterday and she's not super happy with what's going on but can't rule out that it's just normal pregnancy stuff - I'm not so convinced. So Starting today Gray is in Daycare 3 days a week, with Gramma one day a week and with our educational aid and me one day a week (our aid can't travel outside our region and that's where Gramma lives, so Monday's he's with me at home but our aid is here for 2.5 hours in the morning and then he naps for 2.5 hours in the afternoon). I'm on much more restricted activity than I was before. I'm allowed to lift G but I'm not allowed to carry him. So I can put him in his high chair or on the change table but I can't carry him up the stairs.

I have a feeling full bedrest is coming.

Yesterday Gray was with Gramma for the day - our aid is on her honeymoon. So after I saw my doc I was home alone for the first time since Gray was born. Today it's sinking in. Gray left with Brian this morning and I'm home alone. It's so hard to see them both walk through the door and know that I'm alone. At least on limited activity I still had Gray here.

We got my desk set up in our bedroom so I can at least get some work done and cover the cost of daycare every week while I'm here.

I'm officially half way through my pregnancy expectations. 16 weeks until the same gestation as Gray was when he was born. Hopefully we can blow them away and beat the expectations.

Doc said that my cervix felt great yesterday when I saw her, and hopefully that what the ultrasound this morning will say too.

praying for you all always. And hopefully we'll see some of you in chat this afternoon.

Today I am 33 weeks! I am excited and scared as this is our first plus we are moving into our new apartment soon so I feel so unprepared! I have a lot of questions if anyone is willing to listen I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Sending love to everyone!

35 W 4 D now - 1 week to go until scheduled c-section.  I'm a bed rest graduate (allowed up at 34 weeks), but returned to class, because I get a lot of cervical pain when I do too much (which is often), so today I am putting myself back to bed.   I did 13 weeks from 21-34 weeks.  Sad that it will soon be all over, but very happy at the same time.  I think that is the definition of mixed feelings!

I am a few days short in checking in!

I am 29w4d today with my surro b/g twins.  On modified home bedrest for the last 6 weeks.  I am on progesterone suppositories and procardia.  My fFN test was negative today which was wonderful news...had an U/S and things looked good for the babies.  Last Wednesday checked cervial lenght and it was 1.6, so short but holding strong still.

Looks like we have a bunch of 30+ weekers in here and thats so encourging to see!

Wishing you all a wonderful uneventful week!
