Short Cervix & kegels? squats?

Hi All,

I was told I had a short cervix back in December & have been on bed since then. I am now at 35.3 weeks and will be able to resume normal activity this coming saturday. yay!
Early on, I read a couple things saying kegels and squats were definite no-nos if you have a short cervix. Does anyone else know more about this?
I haven't done either, since I found out about my cervix, but I"m wondering if it is okay to do these things once I hit 36 weeks. ??? I assume so, because doc. said I could have sex again and walk up stairs & all the other stuff - I guess I'm just unclear of the exact physiology - and wouldn't want to do anything that would put me into labor right at 36 weeks...I'd like her to cook a LITTLE longer.

Curious to hear if anyone else has heard these restrictions &/or if they've resumed these things later in pregnancy.
