Hey Monica

Is this a singleton or its multiples.

My CL was first discovered at 2.1cm then a week later it was 1.5cm. I was started on Makena and strict bed rest. A week later I had gained back some length and was 2.0 cm. my gynae  added progesterone suppositories to my regimen. The following Tuesday I was 1.7 cm and the MFM seemed pleased that things had stabilized. Come Friday I started having contractions and Saturday morning, I had a contraction with what I thought was leakage. Went to the hospital and all tests came back negative for labor, however, my cervical  length had shortened further to 0.9cm. I was immediately put on super strict bed rest with my lower body elevated higher than my upper body and started on Indocin, to help relax the uterus. 24 hours later I had gained some length back to 1.9cm and my MFM immediately took me to the OR for a rescue cerclage. This was last Sunday. On Tuesday I was discharged with a closed cervix, cerclage in place and measuring at 1.9cm with my Makena, progesterone suppositories and procardia to help keep the uterus relaxed, and of course I continue bed rest. I just had a followup appt Friday and things are looking stable. I am 23 weeks and 3 days but still holding on. I just wanted to share my story with you so that you know there is plenty of options available to keep your peanut cooking. I switched doctors after my first gynae pretty much told me I was going to have a previable birth cause of issues with my cervix. Insurance issues kinda forced the switch but in the end I am so glad cause now I have high risk ob doctors and high risk MFMs following my case.

Do not loose hope or be discouraged but seek for excellent care and if your current docs seem not to be pushing hard for ways to prolong your pregnancy, do not be afraid to look for someone who will.

Wish you all the best!!!!!!

Hey thanks for your reply and congrats to you I'm pregnant with a singleton and I called my doctor to see if I could come in to be rechecked still haven't gotten a call I'm so worried because I lost my twins in January so I'm afraid I will miscarry this baby idk why he's not seeming concerned although I'm on moderate bedrest I barely move smh this is to much pressure especially if you already lost before hopefully all will go well

How moderate is your bed rest.

Ugh! I hate docs who are relaxed like that. Hopefully you get all your answers soon. Do not despair just yet. Your length is still pretty significant. With the right care I pray that all goes well with you. I have had issues since 18w5days and am still hanging and my length was a whole 0.7cm shorter than yours.

Bed rest seems to help even though studies prove otherwise. So you are one step in the right direction

The doctor just told me bedrest at the e.r. Sad to say but they act as if they don't even care until something crazy happens

I had some pain just after the procedure. I was given pain meds that evening. The next morning I was back to my normal self.

Hopefully you don't have to either. If things are pretty stable, the doctor might not even consider it. When is your next appointment.?.

I had a shortened, funneling dynamic cervix at 21 weeks. I measured 2.9 and my doctor said they like it to be above 3 but the 2.9 wasn't that concerning. They started me on progesterone and modified bed rest and sent me to see the specialists at the university of Washington as a precaution but the U said after one visit they didn't need to see me back. Just keep on the progesterone and rest. Since that visit my cervix has been all over the place. Up to 3.4, down to 1.7, lots of funneling, no funneling. I've been on strict bed rest, modified bed rest, you name it. But they never gave me a cerclage. And long story short, that was 9 weeks ago! My cervix started hanging steady around 2.4 so they decided to stop measuring and in 4 more weeks they are going to let me off bed rest and let nature take its course. I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Wow that's great news I'm just worried because I'm only 22 weeks they said I had no dilation and no funneling which is great I guess but I would love for my doc to monitor me so I'll have a piece of mind

I think they should call it something besides dynamic, that makes it sound like something good! Although, I am pretty thankful for my strong, dynamic cervix! It's gotten us this far !

And as far as your doc goes, Teemeg and I are both nurses and I am sure she would agree that you are your own best advocate. Tell the doc what you want, voice your concerns, go in with a list of topics to cover. Ask about progesterone, cerclages. Tell him/her what is going to to make you feel better and more secure. You know yourself and your body better than anyone and as we know, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! I have seen 6 different doctors during this ordeal and one thing they all agree on is you have to relax and try to stay positive. From what you have told us, I have a good feeling. I think your going to do awesome!

Well the nurse at my doc office finally returned my call today she asked me about seeing a specialist so I'm just waiting she told me don't panick and no over working myself so I've just been laying around which is hard when you already have little ones at home but praying all is well with all of us
