Online prenatal courses/resources?
« on: December 16, 2015 at 12:33 PM »
Quick question - I am a FTM and was planning on taking a prenatal class for my husband in January. It doesn't look as though I will be off bed rest anytime soon (or really anytime until I get to the end) so I am trying to find some resources online that  my husband and I can take a look at.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks so much!  :)

I don't know any online sites but my midwife does home visits, I have to pay a small amount but at least it's on a one to one basis and for that day I only need to walk downstairs to my living room where she will go through everything with us. I live in the UK so do not know whether that service is available where you live? Worth investigating though.....

Our university has a nursing program, and their nursing students will go into the home and do some basic preparations with the parents to be.  There may be other organizations in your area that will do something similar?

Thanks so much ladies!! I live in Ottawa (Canada) and there are some online courses through the city, but they are so basic.
Angela, thanks for the link!!

I've been YouTubing as well, but just trying to get as much info as I can - not just for me but for my husband too! :)

CeeCee31, my colleague Erin offers prenatal birth consultations via google hangout or facetime! Here's her website. https://breastfeedingandbirth.wordpress.com/services/

I've reached out to a few other people who I think may do something similar. Once I hear back I'll let you know!

Hope this helps!

Here's another by Alison.  bravobirth.com Check under services and doula. She offers childbirth classes live via video!

And another colleague recommended Birth Bootcamp that offer virtual classes!  http://birthbootcamp.com/?ap_id=IFCFCP

Abudo maternity course is the best online resource for getting antenatal care guidelines.
