Pessaries ?
« on: March 22, 2016 at 10:39 PM »
Hey guys
I had my appointment with my new doctor yesterday and when I asked her about a pessarie or a stitch she said the stitch would be risky and could rupture the sack and cause mis carriage ... I am 21w 6days. And she also said the pessarie has not been proven to be helpful in the shortening of a cervix... I know a few of you have had one put in, did your doctors have the same thoughts? What is your personal experience ?

I had one placed at 28 weeks a cervix of .6 cm, and funneling. My Dr. Spoke highly of the use of pessarys. I am now 30weeks and have no cervix and dilated 1cm. If nothing else maybe it helped for those 2 weeks and continues at this time. Praying she holds on a few more weeks after a positive ffn test. I have read alot on pessarys. Most data is outside the US but is good and provides good insight!i have also read good results on this site!
I wish you all the best!! Bed rest is key ????!! Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
