Short cervx at 21 weeks
« on: November 21, 2016 at 03:18 PM »
Hi I'm new here was told Wednesday that my cervix was measuring 2.2 cm. Was placed on rest and progesterone. I go back in this Wednesday for them to measure it again. My doctor also referred us to a perinatal doctor. Has anyone been on rest and progesterone for only a week and seen a change in there cervical length? I wanna think good news but since he already referred us to the specialist instead of waiting to see the week long progress isn't making it easy. Thanks for the help.

Hi, there! I'm checking in to see how you are doing. How was your cervix length at your most recent appointment?

I have seen women here who gained cervix length and went on to deliver MANY weeks later and even at 37 weeks and beyond. I've also seen women whose cervix length got shorter and then stabilized and they made it to full-term too. Cervix length is the BEST predictor of risk of preterm birth, but it can't tell the future (as maddening as that is). What's great is that the short cervix was discovered and now you have the power to do everything you can to keep cookin'!

Let me know how you're doing, okay?
