Cerclage at 16 weeks. Looking for hope!
« on: December 04, 2017 at 05:39 PM »
Hi Ladies,

I have a  terrible past with pregnancy loss and recently had my beautiful baby girl via IVF in feb2017. She was born exactly at 36 weeks. Prior to her I lost my twins at 23 weeks due to placental abruption.

My cervix measured on the shorter side with my daughter (27mm) but held on its own with makena injections until 36 weeks.

When she turned 6 months older found out i was pregnant, which was a miracle in itself. I recently had my 16 week appt where I started my makena and had my cervix measured. Unfortunately is was at 22-23mm. No dilation or funneling, just short. They put a cerclage in that night bc my doctor wasn’t taking any chances.

I’m just looking for some hope. I’m not on bedrest but def taking it easy. I hired full time help to assist me with my daughter and I rest and put my feet up a lot. I have read some great success stories out there with a cerclage am makena but would live to hear more.

Thank you for listening.

I'm sorry to hear about your losses,  Ive had 2 trimester losses myself so i know how heartbreaking it is.  I also am pregnant again and have a preventative cerclage,   Hope everything is going well with you and baby.  Please keep us updated.  Thoughts and prayers
