Monday Roll Call for July 9, 2018

Music! Take some time today for music.

First, think of a song that has always inspired you, like the theme from Rocky, or "Roar" by Katy Perry, or a favorite workout song. Next, pick a song that will take you to another time and place in your life when you were carefree, young and idealistic. Finally, pick a song that means something special to you and your partner, perhaps a song from your wedding or a song from when you first started dating. Don't underestimate the power that music can have on your mood!

As always, let us know how many weeks along you are and how the past week has been. And, tell us a song that inspires you. Here are a few links to get you started:

"Ain't no Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell:
"Fighter" by Christina Aguilera:
"Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson:
"Survivor" by Destiny's Child:
"Happy" by Pharrell Williams:

I love this suggestion to turn to music. A happy/care-free song that came to mind is Elton John's "Your Song." I have good memories of belting this one out with my roommates, when I was in school a decade ago. I also love the positivity of the line "how wonderful life is, now you're in the world" which points me towards hope, in my current state, for the baby to come.

22 weeks today. I had a follow-up anatomy scan 3 days ago and placenta previa is still complete. A subchorionic hematoma that went away on my scan a month ago is now back and bigger than before. I'm still bleeding daily, throughout the days/nights. But the good news is that the baby seems to be growing well and hanging in there! I keep telling myself to hang in there, too!!  Sending positive thoughts to the rest of you, who are doing the same!

Oh man, I'm teeerrrible with songs, never remembering the singer/song name/lyrics lol. Basically what sticks with me is a good beat and the chorus  :P I really like classical music (instrumental classical, like Bach and Mozart type stuff) because it's so calming and makes me feel like my brain is being fed musically.

I'm 34+5 today, officially longer than I was pregnant with my last baby! I had a ton of contractions Saturday night, and was close to calling the on call OB, but they ended up subsiding eventually. Since then I've been having some somewhat painful ones in the evening, but nothing regular. I'm not sure I'll make it to 40, but I'm very glad I'm almost to 35. I'm hoping my chances of baby having to be in the NICU are becoming less and less, as my 34 weeker was only in for 12 days. I have an appointment on Friday and will bring up the contractions and see what they think. I'm getting very swollen and uncomfortable these days, but still very happy to be pregnant. People are so kind to me these days. Probably because they feel sorry haha.
