Hi,
I’m sorry you’re going through all this. My situation is not exactly like yours but I too underwent emergency cerclage surgery at 21+5 and have been on bedrest since then. I recall the perinatologist giving me the risks and benefits of a cerclage and it was horrifying to hear all the different complications from the cerclage surgery. As a mom, it is terrifying when you want your baby to be safe but your body is not cooperating. You feel helpless, hopeless and even angry at times. I have been on bedrest at home mostly but had to be hospitalized twice since then, each time wondering if I could ever reach the point where I can see my baby earth side safe and sound. I am currently 30+1 and still not at the safest time point yet but the days did eventually pass and with the help and support of the doctors, we will keep going as long as we can. Your situation is more stressful but trust in those around you trying to help you and your little one the best they can. Bedrest is a depressing experience but it’s one of the best things you can do right now for your baby so do your best to find ways to keep your mind sane. Good luck and I wish you the best on your journey.
